FYI, this story is more than a year old

Hills has been recognised as distributor of the year by a global Wi-Fi technology company Ruckus Wireless.

Hills says the award recognises their outstanding performance as a distributor, outstripping its competitors in Australia, and growing Ruckus's earnings by 30% year on year in the local market.

The Ruckus Wi-Fi network operates in several locations all over the country including Perth City Council, which was extended in November 2014.

Daniel Lee, Hills head of the IT practice says the Wi-Fi expectations of the Australian community are on the rise, and his company are therefore well poised to take advantage of this.

“With the expanding Wi-Fi needs of the community, this is an exciting growth area for our business and it's great to be recognised for the work we are doing to grow Wi-Fi presence in Australia.

Patrick Devlin, Ruckus managing director for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands also states that the breadth of Hills' national networks has been a key advantage for Ruckus, and has been critical to the company's success in the Australian region.

Hills is a majority Australian-owned publicly listed (ASX:HIL) value-added distributor of integrated technology and communication solutions.

In addition to Perth City Council, Hills has also worked with Ruckus and their partners to deliver services in various public Wi-Fi commercial and enterprise networks, K-12 education, venues, major hotel chains, warehousing, retail (including shopping centres), aged care facilities, student accommodation and mining accommodation camps.

Their company ethos states they aim to inspire, protect and improve people's daily lives and the environments they consider to be most important, whether that be their homes, schools, hospitals, aged care facilities, educational institutions, workplaces or governments.
