Commvault capitalises on APJ growth opportunity with latest appointment

Commvault has appointed Rachel Ler as vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific Japan (APJ).

According to CommVault, Ler brings a proven track record of achieving growth and customer success through the implementation of a consistent, repeatable, and scalable sales model across all of Commvault’s ASEAN, Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan regions.

She also brings previous experience in multiple regional leadership positions at Dell Technologies, Nimble Storage, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Commvault chief revenue officer Riccardo Blasio says, “APJ represents a critical growth opportunity for Commvault, to continue our commitment to region-wide responsibility and repeatable market share extension.

“I know Rachel will be an outstanding leader, customer advocate, mentor, and team builder that leads us on our mission to accelerate growth across a region that has great potential.”

Ler will be expanding her responsibilities for Korea, ASEAN, Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan to have full responsibilities for all APJ markets, including A/NZ, India, China, and Japan.

Commvault APJ already supports large global enterprise organisations, including Sony and Daihatsu Motors, and market leaders including the University of Canberra, Revera, Huaxia Bank and Evalueserve.

Ler’s appointment follows the availability of Metallic in APJ - the first region to launch the SaaS-delivered data management solution outside of North America.

This offering will continue to drive growth and expansion with service providers and large enterprise organisations across the region, according to Commvault.

On the appointment Ler says, “My appointment to this role within Commvault coincides with an unprecedented period of challenge and change for both the regional and global economy.

"In a year of great transformation, our customers, partners and teams have demonstrated incredible resilience and passion, it is a real honour to be given this opportunity to lead APJ in this crucial but exciting time.

"I look forward to creating meaningful customer experiences in their data journey and success for the business.

“I have complete confidence that Commvault will continue to be one of the most trusted and proven vendors in the IT industry, and know we have the solution, leadership, and opportunity to grow across APJ and globally.”

This latest announcement comes as Callum Eade departs after a leave of absence for a family matter.

On this, Commvault wrote, “Callum Eade, who has been a strong leader for us in APJ and was on a leave of absence due to a personal family matter, has decided to resign.

“We would like to thank Callum for his leadership during his tenure with Commvault and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

"We are confident that Rachel Ler, who has been leading the APJ business in recent months, will be in a position to accelerate our growth across the region.

"Rachel has a 19-year proven track record, holding APJ leadership roles at several MNCs and has worked closely with customers and partners since joining the company in January 2020, building and executing our business strategy. We are confident of a seamless transition across APJ.”
