Enterprise and cloud push pays off for Veeam as company posts record results
Wed, 18th Jan 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Veeam is continuing to strengthen its ANZ foothold, with the company recording 22% year on year growth in total revenues across Australia and New Zealand, and a 36% growth in the number of transactions – with two of the company's largest enterprise deals globally coming out of Australia.

Globally the vendor clocked record results for 2016, with 28% year on year growth in revenue bookings, at US$607.4 million, driven by increased enterprise and cloud revenues.

Don Williams, Veeam ANZ vice president, says the ANZ markets too are seeing strong enterprise and cloud revenue performances.

“We achieved significant milestones in 2016 for the ANZ team, including opening a new office in North Sydney and the appointment of two new senior positions to strengthen our channel relationships – Amaury Dutilleul-Francoeur as head of channel and cloud for ANZ and Peter Bender was promoted to Veeam's head of alliances for ANZ,” Williams says.

“In addition Chris Casswell joined us as head of commercial and enterprise sales for ANZ to support our growth into the enterprise market segment.

“Further, Australia in 2016 marked two of the largest enterprise deals globally for Veeam and is ranked the eighth largest revenue contributor globally," Williams adds.

Customer numbers across Australia and New Zealand closed the year at 8260, up from 7890 customers at the end of Q3. Globally the vendor added close to 50,000 total paid customers last year, bringing its total to 230,000 customers worldwide. Enterprise customers grew 49% to 761 globally with enterprise new license bookings up 57%. No local figures for enterprise were available.

Meanwhile, locally, ProPartner numbers continued their steady climb, up from 2280 to 2370, with VCSPs now sitting at 1190 across ANZ.

Peter McKay, Veeam president and COO, says the company has seen ‘incredible' growth in demand for the Veeam Availability Suite from all sectors of the market, but especially the Fortune 500 and Global 2000.

“As organisations work to digitally transform every aspect of their business, CIOs are quickly coming to realise that these IT investments won't be worth much if they can't guarantee that they will be ‘always on',” McKay says.

Nathan Harman, managing director at Perth-based cloud infrastructure provider and platinum VCSP partner Zettagrid, says he's expecting his business to see a surge in growth this year on the back of its implementation of the Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 – released last year – which he says offers customers enhanced agility and flexibility.
