FYI, this story is more than a year old

Mobile Mentor will provide managed security and managed mobility services to the New Zealand government, after being named part of the Telecommunications-as-a-service supplier panel.

As reported last week, 12 companies have been appointed to the panel, which will provide a range of telecommunications and managed security services for government agencies.

The panel is expected to save taxpayers at least $20 million to $30 million within the first two years.

Mobile Mentor will be providing software and services for mobile device management, mobile policy management and mobile threat management to the New Zealand government, under the mobile security section of the TaaS contract.

Mobile Mentor says it has extended its long-term partnerships with AirWatch and Revera for the security software and hosting services to meet the stringent security security requirements mandated by the government.

Denis O'Shea, Mobile Mentor chief executive, says being 100% focused on enterprise mobility enables the company to have the depth and specialisation that government requires in mobility.

Mobile Mentor's offering includes threat management of malicious apps via an app reputation scanning engine integrated into the MDM platform. Daily vulnerability monitoring and recommendations for action is also included.

On the managed mobility services side, Mobile Mentor will provide specialist 24x7 mobile service desk, mobile asset management, mobile expense management and app management to distributor, suppport and lifecycle manage enterprise apps.
