NetSuite bulks up developer tools with SuiteCloud Framework

FYI, this story is more than a year old

NetSuite has added to its developer tools, unveiling its next-generation integrated development environment, the SuiteCloud Development Framework, which it says offer customers and ISV cloud developers greater flexibility, control and efficiency.

The offering, which is part of the SuiteCloud Development Platform, supports the complete software development lifecycle, including source code control, peer code reviews, team development and integrated debugging, NetSuite says.

NetSuite says SuiteCloud Development Framework brings features, controls and processes previously associated with leading on-prem, standalone development environments to the cloud and creates seamless team collaboration enabling customer and partner development teams to gain greater flexibility, control and efficiency on the SuiteCloud Platform.

Paul Farrell, NetSuite senior vice president of product marketing, says the new release of the SuiteCloud Platform provides developers with ‘sophisticated controls to meet the demands of the new cloud economy'.

NetSuite says partners and customers will have the flexibility to build out industry and business-specific customisations, extensions and applications for any business need, with the unified cloud architecture eliminating version lock to ensure that any customisations, extensions and applications will carry forward automatically.

As well as the cloud collaboration aspect, which enables collaboration in a separate dedicated development environment, developers can directly deploy applications to development, sandbox or production accounts, simplifying the development and deployment process.
