FYI, this story is more than a year old

Adrian Johnson has been appointed as the new vice president and managing director for Hitachi Vantara, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

Hitachi Vantara is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi.

In his new role, Johnson is responsible for managing Hitachi Vantara's business and operations in Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on nurturing the partner ecosystem, charting business strategy and steering the ANZ region to continued business growth.

Johnson has an impressive resume with more than 20 years of IT experience, which includes building and leading teams across Australia, Asia and the United States, and has spearheaded high sales growth in diverse technology organisations. After serving as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy, Johnson held senior executive positions with Code42, Dell, Fuji Xerox, CA Technologies and Sun Microsystems backed by a masters degree in business and IT.

Knowledgeable and experienced across different domains including SaaS, cloud, data management, security, infrastructure and software, and services and consulting, Johnson was responsible for the delivery of highly complex programs and customer projects for some of the world's most recognised brands. In his most recent role as ANZ general manager with Liferay, Inc., Adrian led a transformation of the business that resulted in significant growth.

"Adrian joins Hitachi Vantara ANZ as we continue to strengthen and foster our channel network and partner ecosystem in support of the digital-led transformation of organisations across the region," says Daniel Chong, senior vice president and general manager of Hitachi Vantara Asia Pacific.

"Adrian will drive local co-creation opportunities and innovative data-driven strategies that aim to deliver business value and accelerate digital transformation for our customers and partners," he says.

"Cloud adoption is advancing into true multicloud strategies supported by hyperconverged infrastructures and data analytics," says Johnson.

"This kind of progress is exciting for people who do the kind of work we do at Hitachi Vantara. I am excited to work with the ANZ team to offer Hitachi Vantara expertise and our growing portfolio of technology and services to build the capabilities of our partners and customers in support of this progress," he says.
