OutSystems appoints Fay Sien Goon as new finance chief
OutSystems has appointed Fay Sien Goon as Chief Financial Officer as the software company reshapes its senior team amid growing focus on AI-driven application development.
Goon takes responsibility for global finance, planning and strategy. The company said she will oversee financial operations as OutSystems expands its business and product work in AI applications and AI agents.
OutSystems sells a software development platform. The company positions it around AI features and automation for building applications.
"Fay Sien is a world-class financial leader with an incredible depth of experience in scaling some of the most successful companies in the software industry," said Woodson Martin, CEO, OutSystems. "Her expertise in navigating complex, high-growth environments and her strategic approach to financial operations will be invaluable as we continue to empower organizations with a unified, agile, and enterprise-proven AI development platform. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team."
SaaS background
Goon joins from AppFolio, where she served as Chief Financial Officer. AppFolio sells cloud software for property management and related services.
Before AppFolio, Goon spent nearly a decade at ServiceNow. She held the role of Chief Accounting Officer. OutSystems said she led global accounting and finance functions during a period of rapid change at the business.
OutSystems described Goon as a finance leader with more than 20 years of experience across SaaS and enterprise software. The company said her background includes scaling organisations and maintaining financial discipline during growth periods.
AI development
OutSystems markets its platform as an AI development product for enterprises. The company said customers use the product for "mission-critical applications and agentic systems".
The company cited common issues in taking AI projects into production. It pointed to shortages of specialist skills and the complexity of legacy systems. It also referenced data quality issues and the use of multiple point solutions across organisations.
OutSystems said its platform includes security, scalability and governance. It also claimed it can speed up innovation cycles compared with traditional approaches. The company did not disclose financial figures in the announcement.
Goon framed her move as a response to changes in software creation linked to AI.
"OutSystems is at the forefront of a massive shift in how software is created, particularly as AI transforms the development lifecycle," said Fay Sien Goon, Chief Financial Officer, OutSystems. "I am honored to join a company with such a strong and trusted foundation, a visionary leadership team, and a clear mission to help customers embrace an agentic future."
Company footprint
OutSystems was founded in 2001. The company said its network spans more than 60 million end users, more than 500 partners, and customers in more than 75 countries across more than 20 industries.
The appointment adds an executive with public-company SaaS experience to OutSystems' leadership as the company builds out its positioning around AI-assisted development and agentic software systems.
