SES Networks has launched a new hybrid resiliency platform that the company says is designed to meet the needs of today's telcos, mobile network operators, enterprises and maritime connectivity providers.

How it meets these needs is with its bandwidth-on-demand connectivity and intelligent routing and resiliency, says SES.

This is a multi-orbit approach, claims SES, which aims to leverage the wide coverage capabilities of Geostationary Earth Orbit satellites and the innovative high throughput capabilities of Medium Earth Orbit satellites.

Currently available in the Asia-Pacific region, the service is offered though a platform equipped to support a range of networks across orbit-diverse connections.

There are plans to rollout the service across other regions, says SES.

“Our multi-orbit approach allows us to cater to literally all connectivity needs of our telco and enterprise customers, even in the most remote areas with no or limited terrestrial telecom infrastructure,” comments Steve Collar, CEO of SES Networks.

Collar says that SES are glad to announce that their long-standing partner Palau Telecoms and its customers will be the first to avail of the benefits of this new broadband platform. He adds that SES are very excited about the capabilities the solution will bring.

From Palau Telecoms, CEO Sam Masang states, “satellite network solutions are ideal to help us meet the growing data demand in Palau and bridge the digital divide, as terrestrial infrastructures have limitations, and in some cases are not possible to roll-out.
