FYI, this story is more than a year old

Unisys has been named as one of the first partners to achieve Amazon Web Services (AWS) Government Competency, highlighting the company's strength in cloud solutions to AWS clients.

The AWS Competency Program is a new initiative that recognises 'demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in specialised solution areas', its website states.

The Government category awards companies who have extensive experience providing scalable, cost-efficient solutions worldwide for governments with the aim of reducing costs, increasing innovation and driving efficiencies.

Unisys believes it was awarded competency due to its successful delivery of cloud-based services to government clients, including US Government agencies such as the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau.

“We are pleased to be among the first companies recognised by AWS as having expertise in providing cloud-based, mission-critical solutions to clients across government. This recognition validates Unisys' approach to delivering more efficient and cost-saving cloud services to government, while reinforcing our position as a leader in bringing the benefits of these services to our public sector clients,” says Venkatapathi “PV” Puvvada, president of Unisys Federal Systems.

According to Unisys, the company collaborates with AWS in a number of areas, ranging from microsegmentation security solutions, workload migration, cloud governance, storage solutions and analytics.

Unisys provides government, financial and commercial services to leading-edge organisations. It has more than 20,000 employees worldwide.
