George Fischer has been named as the new president of Verizon Enterprise Solutions (VES).

Named by John Stratton, the president of Verizon's Global Enterprise and Consumer Wireline business, Fischer previously lead the VES Global Sales organisation.

As Global Sales lead, Fischer was responsible for driving customer growth and increasing revenue through Verizon's direct and indirect enterprise distribution channels worldwide.

Fischer will now be responsible for delivering business solutions to Verizon's global enterprise clients in key industries like technology, financial services, automotive, transportation and distribution, and the public sector.

He leads a team driving sales, operations and marketing focused on strategic solutions in networking, IT infrastructure, business communications, security, and professional services.

“George is an exceptional leader with strong industry expertise and a deep understanding of our culture and our enterprise clients,” says Stratton.

“His experience creating and developing high growth organisations will be critical as VES works to rapidly deliver industry-leading technology solutions and services to our global enterprise customer base.

Fischer served as senior vice president of global sales for VES, leading 2,100 sales professionals in 50-plus countries.

In this role, he established customer, segment and product profitability cross-sell strategies, implemented modern sales forecasting and opportunity management processes and drove five quarters of new customer bookings growth.

“This is an exciting time for VES and I'm honoured to be tapped to lead our high-performing team,” says Fischer.

“Our organisation has laid a solid foundation focusing on core products and services, and a unique desire to serve our global customers. Our focus will be on creating a high-growth engine for Verizon.

Fischer has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience on the industry. He will replace VES president, Chris Formant, who recently announced his retirement at the end of the year.
