Acronis unveils Cyber Frame to simplify cyber resilience
Wed, 29th Jul 2026 (Today)
Acronis used its Cyber Day Australia event in Sydney to unveil Cyber Frame, a platform that brings several infrastructure and protection functions into one product.
The launch was the centrepiece of an event focused on cyber resilience for managed service providers, security specialists and other industry participants in Australia.
Cyber Frame combines virtualisation, storage, disaster recovery, backup and cybersecurity in a single platform. It is designed to reduce operational complexity for service providers while strengthening resilience in customer environments.
The event's broader message was that cyber resilience now extends beyond security software alone. Speakers highlighted the need to combine security, compliance, staff awareness and operational resilience as organisations face more sophisticated threats.
Artificial intelligence featured heavily in the discussion, with speakers noting that attackers are increasingly adopting AI-based methods, pushing defenders towards AI-driven protection tools of their own.
Microsoft 365 protection and resilience also emerged as a major topic, with sessions covering practical approaches for customers seeking stronger protection across more complex IT estates.
Richard Magalad, Chair, Online Branch, Australian InfoSec Association, set out that broader view of cyber risk during the event.
"Cyber resilience today requires more than technology alone," said Richard Magalad, Chair, Online Branch, Australian InfoSec Association. "Organisations that embed security, cyber awareness, compliance, and operational resilience into their strategy are better positioned to manage emerging risks and drive long-term success. AI-powered protection has become essential to stay ahead of evolving threats as cybercriminals increasingly use AI themselves."
Acronis also used the event to highlight demand from managed service providers for simpler operating models. The theme reflects a broader shift in the channel market as providers try to contain administrative overheads while managing rising security demands and compliance obligations.
Platform focus
Acronis linked that demand directly to its product strategy. Alongside Cyber Frame, it highlighted additions to Acronis Cyber Protect, including GenAI Protection and Microsoft 365 protection, as part of its effort to bring cybersecurity, data protection and endpoint management together in one platform.
The company works with more than 2,000 partners across the Asia Pacific region, and said its technology is used by more than 21,000 service providers globally to protect over 750,000 businesses.
Pasha Ershow, Senior Vice President, APJ & MEA and Global Channel Strategy, Acronis, described simplification as a central issue for the sector.
"As cyberthreats continue to evolve, the industry requires operational simplification and continuous innovation to address concerns of security and protection," said Pasha Ershow, Senior Vice President, APJ & MEA and Global Channel Strategy, Acronis. "Acronis heavily invests into own complete AI-powered MSP platform - Acronis Cyber Protect, enhancing it with new capabilities such as GenAI Protection, the Cyber Frame infrastructure offering, and complete M365 Protection. By unifying cybersecurity, data protection, and endpoint management into a single natively integrated platform, Acronis helps more than 2,000 partners in the Asia Pacific region operate more efficiently, expand their service offerings, and drive business growth."
Channel awards
The event also included a partner awards program covering Australia and New Zealand. Acronis named Nueva, IT First Responder, OpSys, Zeal Consultants, Concept Data, WOTLINK, Extranet Systems, GZD, Matrix Solutions, 27BC, IT&T, Voyager and Edge8 IT as Platinum Partners.
Leader received the Distributor of the Year ANZ award, while Cesar Tse was named Distributor Champion of the Year Award ANZ.
The partner recognition reflects Acronis' route to market in the region, where managed service providers and distributors are central to customer acquisition and service delivery. It also comes as vendors compete to offer broader software stacks to channel partners seeking fewer standalone tools and more integrated systems.
Australia's cyber market has become a testing ground for that approach as organisations contend with regulatory pressure, increasing threat activity and resource constraints. For managed service providers, that has created demand for products that combine backup, recovery, security and infrastructure administration without requiring multiple separate consoles.
Acronis presented Cyber Frame as its answer to that shift in buying behaviour, combining virtualisation, data storage, disaster recovery, backup and cybersecurity in a single solution to simplify operations and improve cyber resilience.
