ACS seeks tech professionals' views for Digital Pulse report
The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is inviting tech workers' views and experiences for a nationwide survey supporting the development of this year's key industry report, ACS Australia's Digital Pulse. The survey has widened its scope to delve deeper into issues relevant to technology professionals, encompassing significant industry trends such as Artificial Intelligence, workforce diversity, and the emerging tech worker pipeline in Australia.
Remarkably, this year's report will mark the tenth anniversary of Australia's Digital Pulse, a momentous milestone that ACS President Helen McHugh is enthusiastically looking forward to. "We're excited about the 2024 Digital Pulse as the tenth edition will provide a decade of trends across Australia's IT workforce. The survey we've opened this week will also help us capture what's going on in workplaces and across the industry along with capturing the views of industry professionals on key issues such as AI and cybersecurity." McHugh stated.
The survey will be open to any individual working in an IT-related role across any industry. By providing data on the progress made in training, workforce diversity, and workplace issues over the last decade, it aims to identify the sector's priorities for the decade ahead. Completion of the survey is projected to take approximately 15 minutes.
The survey is developed and analysed by Deloitte on behalf of ACS. The information provided by the respondents will be exclusively seen by Deloitte and Dynata, the firm fielding the survey. Individual responses will be protected, with data only shared in an aggregated form and solely used to inform the development of the 2024 edition of Australia's Digital Pulse report.
If the respondents feel uncomfortable answering any question, they are encouraged to skip over it, emphasising ACS's commitment to ensuring the privacy and comfort of all participants. Individual participants won't be disclosed by the ACS or any other party without respondents' explicit consent, underscoring their strenuous commitment to privacy rights.
This survey provides tech workers across Australia an invaluable opportunity to actively contribute to the development of the upcoming ACS Australia's Digital Pulse report. By offering valuable insights into their personal experiences and views on the IT sector, technology professionals become contributors to the design of Australia's future IT landscape.
Responses will be accepted until 6 pm on Wednesday, 15th May 2024, giving IT professionals ample time to share their experiences and contribute to this noteworthy initiative. The initiative promises a decade of insights gathered, key trends revealed, and emerging priorities identified, reflecting the pulse of Australia's digital landscape.
