AI-driven cybersecurity shapes future of managed services
CMTG has highlighted the increasing importance of AI-driven cybersecurity in the evolution of managed services for clients as the use of artificial intelligence becomes more widespread.
Carl Filpo, Managing Director at CMTG, stated that many managed service providers (MSPs) are moving towards deploying intelligent security platforms that leverage AI technology to proactively identify and neutralise digital threats in real-time, marking a shift away from traditional, reactive IT support.
"AI is transforming cybersecurity by enabling faster, more effective threat mitigation – it is ultimately helping us stop attacks before they can impact the business," Filpo said.
He added, "It's no longer enough to wait and respond, we need to anticipate threats and act in real time which is where AI-driven platforms provide a major advantage."
The increased use of AI comes as cyberattacks become both more frequent and sophisticated, placing organisations in sectors such as engineering, finance, insurance, and training under additional pressure to safeguard sensitive data, meet compliance requirements, and maintain operational continuity.
Filpo commented that the future for managed service providers lies in developing integrated, security-focused IT strategies that are adaptable to constantly changing risk and compliance landscapes.
"Basic IT support or off-the-shelf solutions are no-longer enough," Filpo said. "Our clients operate in high-stakes environments where a single data breach or system failure can have severe legal, financial or reputational consequences.
"We've developed our managed services offering to anticipate threats before they emerge, ensuring there is sufficient compliance at every level of the business and giving our clients the confidence to grow."
CMTG integrates proactive cybersecurity such as real-time threat monitoring, secure cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity awareness training across its managed service portfolio.
These measures, according to the company, have helped customers improve their compliance and security practices, thus enabling them to maintain efficient operations and manage responsibilities towards their own clients.
Filpo said, "We are increasingly observing larger organisations cascading security requirements to smaller partners to mitigate broader cybersecurity risks, and this trend is driving demand for our services."
Recent work by CMTG includes supporting a client to achieve ISO 27001 certification, implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS), and completion of an IRAP assessment to enhance eligibility for government contract work.
The company has also assisted a client through the ISO 27001 process to satisfy security requirements for clients in banking and real estate, and helped another client to strengthen their overall security during competitive tender processes.
Filpo noted, "What sets us apart from our competitors is our deep understanding of industry-specific risks and compliance frameworks. We don't offer one-size-fits-all solutions – we tailor security strategies that reflect the specific challenges our clients face."
Filpo expects that businesses will continue to seek intelligent threat response tools, more integrated compliance solutions, and opportunities to consolidate vendors so that security management becomes less complex.
He said, "Security must be part of a company's foundation, not an afterthought. Our focus is on creating scalable, secure environments that help clients operate efficiently and innovate safely – whether they're expanding into new markets, adopting AI, or managing hybrid workplaces."
