AlayaCare & Simple Foods partner to enhance aged care meals

Yesterday

AlayaCare, a software provider for the aged care sector in Australia, has partnered with Simple Foods, a food services company, to integrate food solutions with its Residential Platform, with upcoming changes to the Aged Care Act.

This collaboration is set to assist residential care providers in meeting the revised care standards outlined in the Aged Care Act Standard 6. The integration is designed to help aged care providers maintain compliance and cater to diverse dietary requirements while enhancing health outcomes for residents.

Simple Foods will integrate its offerings, including the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) texture level allocation, allergen management, meal ticket printing for precise delivery, and real-time consumer meal order viewing, into the AlayaCare platform. This will enable the provision of tailored, safe, and visually appealing meals to residents nationwide.

Annette Hili, General Manager for ANZ, AlayaCare, said, "Having worked in aged care for many decades, I know how quality food and a great dining experience can make a difference to residents' days. That's why AlayaCare is thrilled to be partnering with Simple Foods by improving meal times for residents and making ordering and food safety management a breeze for providers as it will integrate seamlessly with our Residential Platform meaning no double handling for staff. As we navigate new changes with the Aged Care Act, AlayaCare is doing everything we can to help smooth the transition for the industry."

Simple Foods' Business Development Director, Matthias Larcher, expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with AlayaCare: "Simple Foods is excited to partner with AlayaCare to bring enhanced solutions to aged care providers. By integrating with AlayaCare's innovative platform, we're helping organisations streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and deliver better resident care."

The integration comes at a time when there is a notable increase in demand for culturally and lifestyle-specific dietary options in aged care, such as vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, and gluten-free meals. Simple Foods aims to cater to this demand through its meal ordering software, which assists providers in managing and accommodating residents' diverse dietary needs.

Industry experts developed the Simple Food Safety Management and Consumer Meal Ordering Software to enable aged care providers to achieve food safety compliance efficiently.
