Alcatraz AI launches Rock X, advances biometric security

Yesterday

Alcatraz AI has announced the launch of its latest product, Rock X, intended to redefine biometric access control. Showcased at the Global Security Exchange (GSX) 2024, Rock X is designed to provide seamless facial authentication in all lighting and weather conditions. The product is IP66 water and dust-resistant, ensuring its functionality even in challenging environments.

"We are thrilled to bring Rock X to the market as a technological breakthrough," said Tina D'Agostin, CEO of Alcatraz AI. "Rock X is transforming the security landscape, ushering in the next generation of biometric security, while also offering something that is hard to replicate: peace of mind, ease of use, and seamless, design-forward integration." D'Agostin emphasised the product's durability and readiness for harsh conditions and physical impact.

The new device's capabilities are noteworthy for its adaptability and performance. Rock X promises to work effectively in lighting conditions ranging from complete darkness to intense sunlight, which makes its operation reliable throughout the day. The product can tolerate temperatures from -40°C to 66°C, confirming its suitability for extreme weather environments.

Additional features include intelligent tailgating detection and a vandal-resistant design with an IK08 rating, contributing to robust security and product resilience. It also supports IP Intercom functionality, which allows it to seamlessly integrate with digital intercom systems or PBXs. The product's ONVIF camera compatibility ensures smooth interoperability with various systems in place.

Furthermore, Rock X is designed to mount flat on turnstiles, a step away from the industry-standard mounts, thereby offering a low-profile and aesthetically pleasing solution. The device complies with multiple privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and BIPA, thereby ensuring data protection and privacy management.

Vince Gaydarzhiev, Founder and President of Alcatraz AI, remarked on the product's significance. "With Rock X, we're not just delivering a new product; we're unlocking a paradigm shift in efficient and effective biometric access control. This reimagined product empowers our customers to take the next step in protecting what matters most—their people, space, and data," said Gaydarzhiev. He described Rock X as not merely a product but a strategic partner that seamlessly integrates into existing operations.

Alcatraz AI asserts that Rock X's combination of advanced features positions it as a best-in-class solution. The product is backward compatible with existing Alcatraz installations and is supported by an enterprise-grade software platform. Profile and privacy management features include profile expiration, visitor management, Bio Opt-Out, and consent management, ensuring compliance with privacy laws while maintaining a high level of security.

Deployed at scales covering over one million employees across Fortune 500 companies and various facilities, Alcatraz AI's facial authentication solutions stand as a benchmark in the industry. The launch of Rock X aligns with this commitment, aiming for widespread application in sectors including stadiums, arenas, college campuses, workplaces, data centres, healthcare facilities, and airports.

Rock X will be available for shipment in November 2024, with pre-orders currently being accepted.
