Alchemy CyberDefence appoints Ben Ross as Managing Director
Alchemy CyberDefence has announced the appointment of Ben Ross as Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. The announcement highlights Ross's two decades of experience in telecommunications, cybersecurity, and IT sectors, previously contributing to sales growth at Spark New Zealand, Trend Micro, and F-Secure.
CEO of Alchemy CyberDefence, Indi Siriniwasa, expressed enthusiasm for Ross's new role. "Having worked with Ben before, I'm thrilled to appoint him as Managing Director. He embodies ACD's ethos of making a genuine impact, streamlining costs, ensuring compliance, and securing digital operations," Siriniwasa stated.
Ross himself indicated optimism regarding his new position. "I'm excited to join Alchemy CyberDefence and help businesses reduce their attack surface, enhance visibility across all software and on-premise assets, and meet compliance obligations," he said.
Ross highlighted a critical issue that many businesses in the region face: the "set and forget" approach to software as a service (SaaS), which he noted leads to wasted expenditure and increased vulnerability to cyber threats. "With rising technology costs and the advent of AI, optimising SaaS spend is crucial. Around 30% of software spend is wasted, equating to millions for large companies. Our Optimiser tool identifies savings, enhances visibility across all software and on-premise assets, and helps businesses enhance their compliance and cybersecurity," he added.
In conjunction with Ross's appointment, Alchemy CyberDefence also announced a new partnership with cybersecurity firm, Content Security. The collaboration aims to improve the cybersecurity posture of Australian organisations through reinforced security architecture, secure cloud solutions, and advanced forensic abilities.
Ross spoke on the partnership, saying, "Partnering with Content Security, known for delivering first-class outcomes, aligns perfectly with our solutions and enhances our collective offerings."
Alchemy CyberDefence is known for its flagship product, ACD Optimiser. The tool reduces attack surfaces, improves security posture, and provides continuous compliance reporting. The savings realised are reinvested into security enhancements, thereby reducing vulnerabilities and strengthening security across both software and on-premise assets.
The company combines cutting-edge technology with industry best practices to protect businesses against evolving cyber threats, operating across nearly all continents. Their customer-centric approach and strategic advisory services aim to offer high-quality, value-driven solutions that align with business objectives.
