Wed, 17th Sep 2025

Anomali has announced the launch of Anomali Protect Virtual Conference ANZ 2025, a new virtual event series designed for security and IT professionals in Australia and New Zealand.

The conference is aimed at addressing cybersecurity and operational challenges amid the increasing integration of artificial intelligence within the sector. Attendees from industries including finance, IT, and security are expected to join the event, which features a range of sessions on relevant topics for the region.

The event will commence with a keynote address from Ahmed Rubaie, Chief Executive Officer at Anomali. In his address, Rubaie will outline Anomali's engagement with the Australia and New Zealand market and discuss the role of cyber intelligence in today's security landscape, particularly as organisations aim to streamline their operations and control costs.

"Enterprises and public sector agencies today face unprecedented challenges, managing evolving threats while needing to reduce risk, complexity and cost," said Rubai, CEO, Anomali. "Anomali Protect Virtual Conference is our commitment to helping organisations sharpen their knowledge, build resilience and enhance their security posture in an ever-evolving cyber environment transitioning from costly legacy approaches to modern less costly, AI-native systems of action."

The conference programme includes a session entitled 'The ANZ Threat Landscape', featuring George Moser, Chief Growth Officer at Anomali and former Chief Information Security Officer at S&P Global, Visa, and BNY Mellon. Moser will be joined by Christian Karam to discuss cybersecurity challenges unique to the Australia and New Zealand region, contextualising current threats for local organisations.

Later in the programme, Matt Sayar, Principal Product Manager for Anomali AI, will present on the company's current investments and new platform features. This session is intended to provide participants with practical insights into the latest tools and capabilities available for security operations.

Another highlight of the event is a panel titled 'The Cybersecurity Market Landscape'. Christian Karam, formerly of Interpol and Managing Director at UBS, will participate alongside Francis Odum, an independent analyst and cybersecurity researcher, and Hugh Njemanze, Founder, President and Head of Customer Success at Anomali. Their discussion will address trends relating to security operations (SecOps), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and threat intelligence.

The conference agenda is designed to equip IT and security professionals in the region with knowledge and strategies relevant to both the current landscape and the anticipated direction of cybersecurity and IT operations. The sessions will blend strategic outlooks with practical demonstrations, reflecting market trends and regional needs.

Anomali positions its platform as addressing common priorities for regional organisations by integrating a range of security operations technologies, including ETL, SIEM, Next-Gen SIEM, XDR, UEBA, SOAR, and TIP, unified via a proprietary data lake and agentic AI. The company asserts that such an approach enables enhanced analytics, visibility, productivity, and talent retention while controlling costs.

The introduction of the Anomali Protect Virtual Conference ANZ 2025 signals an engagement with local security challenges and opportunities, while bringing together a range of professionals and subject matter experts to discuss advancements and emerging threats as AI continues to influence the industry.
