Armis achieves Australian IRAP Protected level certification
Armis, the asset intelligence cybersecurity company, has announced its completion of an Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment, achieving the Protected classification level. This step follows Armis' recent collaboration with a significant state-based government department in Australia.
The IRAP assessment confirms that Armis meets the security standards mandated by the Australian government through the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC). With this certification, government agencies requiring up to Protected level security can collaborate with Armis to enhance their cybersecurity measures.
Zak Menegazzi, Cybersecurity Specialist for Australia and New Zealand at Armis, emphasised the importance of this achievement. "The completion of the IRAP assessment demonstrates Armis' commitment to upholding the highest standards of cybersecurity for all levels of government and public sector partners in Australia," Menegazzi stated. "The assurance provided by the IRAP assessment is extremely timely as we mobilise our expertise, empowering our customers and partners in Australia to address the entire lifecycle of cybersecurity threats. We look forward to extending this reach to support additional public sector entities as well as a result of new opportunities enabled by this assessment."
This announcement aligns closely with recent directives from the Department of Home Affairs, which mandate an audit of all internet-facing technology used by Commonwealth agencies due to growing concerns about foreign interference and influence threats.
In addition to the IRAP assessment, Armis has recently made two significant strategic acquisitions. These acquisitions are part of Armis' strategy to build a leading cyber exposure management platform and establish itself as a prominent asset intelligence company. The acquired technologies are being integrated to enhance the capabilities of Armis' AI-powered cyber exposure management platform.
Armis Centrix, the company's cloud-based platform, is designed to proactively identify and mitigate cyber asset risks, address security findings and vulnerabilities, and protect the entire attack surface. This platform operates in conjunction with existing security ecosystems, offering security teams the assurance that all assets, from the ground to the cloud, are continuously protected.
Nadir Izrael, CTO and Co-Founder of Armis, expressed pride in the company's comprehensive cybersecurity solutions. "We are proud to offer a comprehensive cybersecurity solution that empowers public sector entities in Australia and worldwide to combat the growingly sophisticated tactics of cybercriminals," Izrael said. "From asset discovery and management through to vulnerability discovery, prioritisation and remediation, Armis' key priority is helping to keep society safe and secure in light of today's cyber threats."
Overall, the completion of the IRAP assessment to the Protected level and the strategic acquisitions underscore Armis' commitment to enhancing cybersecurity for public sector entities in Australia. The company's ongoing efforts are in line with national security measures and aim to address the evolving landscape of cyber threats.
