Automised Energy launches app to cut Australian bills

Today

Automised Energy has launched a new app aimed at reducing energy bills for Australian households by providing personalised plan matches using the Consumer Data Right (CDR).

The application, developed in partnership with Biza.io, allows consumers to securely share their energy usage data to access tailored energy quotes from various providers. This initiative is designed to result in potential cost savings without the need for additional monitoring devices.

Matt Peterson, Founder of Automised Energy, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, "The launch of Automised Energy is an exciting milestone in simplifying household energy management. After extensive and successful trials, we're excited to bring this secure, data-driven service to Australians, helping them save time and money, and contribute to a more sustainable future. With the global energy transition underway, empowering consumers through automated optimisations can benefit both people and the planet. We're also collaborating with Biza.io to make switching plans seamless, leveraging their expertise in CDR to drive competition and deliver better outcomes for Australians."

Mr. Peterson highlighted Biza.io's role in this endeavour, saying, "Biza.io has built the foundation that makes Automised Energy possible, and as a true pioneer of the CDR industry, they're the perfect partner as we work to increase competition in the energy sector and deliver better outcomes for Australians."

Stuart Low, Founder and CEO of Biza.io, also commented on the importance of the CDR in this context, saying, "The CDR plays a pivotal role in providing consumers more choice by giving them back control of their own data. We are proud to be partnering with Automised Energy on the first CDR-powered energy service that directly addresses the cost-of-living crisis for everyday Australians. We understand the importance of creating new use cases to drive consumer adoption and support the ecosystem as a whole."

Mr. Low further noted the broader implications of the partnership, mentioning, "Our partnership with Automised Energy also brings us one step closer to realising Minister Bowen's 'One Click Switch' plan to allow consumers to swap energy providers at the click of a button. After the recent passing of the Action Initiation Bill, and with the help of the DataRight Plus initiative which extends on existing government specifications, Minister Bowen's vision will soon be a reality."

The launch of Automised Energy marks a significant step in energy management for households, aiming to transform how Australians interact with their energy providers by placing them at the forefront of the energy transition. The app facilitates this by securely accessing electricity data from existing providers, eliminating the need for hardware or other equipment.

Automised Energy plans to expand its offerings beyond plan matching to include broader energy management capabilities, with a commitment to developing solutions that benefit both households and the environment. This initiative highlights the company's dedication to giving consumers increased control over their energy decisions.

Biza.io brings expertise to the partnership as a market leader in Consumer Data Right solutions, focused on enabling organisations to share and manage customer transaction data securely. Their collaboration with Automised Energy reflects an ongoing effort to enhance digital innovation within Australia's energy sector.
