Avetta widens Australian supplier search with AI tool
Tue, 23rd Jun 2026 (Today)
Avetta has expanded its Find Supplier tool in Australia, widening access to more than 56,000 suppliers in the country.
The changes are intended to help businesses find, assess and contact suppliers more easily across Avetta's wider network of more than 360,000 hiring clients and suppliers worldwide.
Find Supplier is part of Avetta One, the company's platform for supplier compliance, prequalification, safety and performance benchmarking. The update adds search functions that do not rely on exact terms, location-based discovery, and new benchmarks showing supplier tenure, total connections, sustainability scores and compliance trends.
Users can also view key supplier details and contact them directly from search results, shortening the path from identifying a supplier to making a procurement decision.
The announcement comes as Australian companies face pressure on margins and review their supply arrangements. Industry data cited by Avetta shows 31% of businesses plan to renegotiate supply contracts, while 21% intend to source new local suppliers and 19% are considering new foreign suppliers.
Against that backdrop, interest has grown in tools that help buyers compare suppliers on operational and compliance measures rather than price alone. Avetta argues that making readiness data more visible can help both procurement teams and suppliers in a tighter trading environment.
Search changes
The updated tool uses artificial intelligence to return relevant results even when users do not enter exact search terms. It also adds map-based search, allowing hiring clients to identify suppliers close to specific job sites.
For businesses managing project schedules, supplier proximity can affect lead times and site access. The location feature is designed to reduce scheduling risk on upcoming projects by helping users identify qualified businesses nearby.
The benchmark display is another key part of the update. By surfacing compliance trends, sustainability scores and connection history at the search stage, the platform gives buyers more information before they move into detailed checks or commercial discussions.
Dawn Andre, Chief Product Officer at Avetta, outlined the company's position on the update.
"This is about making a trusted, ready-to-work community truly actionable. With Find Supplier, we're turning trusted data into action-helping our customers move faster, make more confident decisions and build stronger partnerships that drive better outcomes across the supply chain," said Andre.
Supplier visibility
The changes are also intended to give suppliers greater visibility within the network by placing verified credentials and performance information directly in front of potential customers. In effect, the platform is seeking to make compliance records and readiness status a more prominent factor in supplier selection.
Two Australian suppliers highlighted by Avetta said the revised tool could help them reach more customers. Harmon Transportation and Odina Industries both pointed to the value of being found more easily by buyers already using the platform.
"Avetta has been a gamechanger for our business, enabling record-breaking growth while streamlining processes and resourcing. With the new Find Supplier capabilities, we can take this business trajectory further by connecting with more customers looking for highly efficient, reliable and compliant light freight delivery services," said Konstek.
Steven Sundstrom, Director at Odina Industries, also commented on the changes.
"We've always displayed our Avetta partnership as a badge of honour because of its long-standing reputation for enabling suppliers like us to meet and sustain high levels of safety and compliance. Find Supplier's new features will now help more businesses discover and leverage our credentials and capabilities, knowing that we're not just in good company among other Avetta-verified businesses, but we're also the best partner for their project," said Sundstrom.
Avetta operates a network spanning more than 120 countries. In Australia, where businesses are reconsidering supplier relationships amid cost pressure, the company is positioning the updated Find Supplier tool as a way to make existing supplier data easier to use at the point of search and selection.
