In a significant move that underscores its commitment to delivering insightful and compelling narratives, Yahoo has enlisted the skills and expertise of award-winning editor and journalist Belinda Grant-Geary as the new Head of Yahoo Finance Australia. Stepping into her role with immediate effect, Grant-Geary will spearhead the financial site's editorial strategy and team, under the stewardship of Euan Black, the Director of Content at Yahoo Australia.

Grant-Geary, revered for her in-depth industry experience and storytelling prowess, comes at a pivotal time for Yahoo Finance. The platform has witnessed a promising 7% growth year-on-year, boasting over 1.8 million active users monthly as of September 2023. A notable favorite among the youth, the finance site enjoys a considerable readership of individuals aged between 16 to 44, a figure that stands at a striking 70%, surpassing the population average by 12%. Moreover, its standing within the top 20 financial websites in Australia, as evidenced by Ipsos iris data from July 2023, underscores its robust presence in the finance sector.

Speaking warmly of the fresh appointment, Euan Black remarks, “Belinda’s industry experience and knack of telling insightful and impactful stories makes her the perfect addition to the Yahoo team. At Yahoo Finance, we are committed to creating quality and engaging content which aligns perfectly with Belinda’s passion.”

Grant-Geary’s illustrious career spans over a decade, with significant contributions in journalism, broadcast media, and digital publishing. She has previously graced nine.com.au with her expertise, where her last stint was as the News and Features Editor. Over the past six years, she climbed the ranks, undertaking various senior roles that have carved her reputation as a force in the journalism sphere.

In her inaugural tenure at Yahoo Finance, Grant-Geary is set to continue the esteemed platform's narrative on the pressing issue of living costs, narrating the tales of everyday Australians grappling with the current crisis. A significant part of her role will be centred on devising solutions-centric content to aid readers adversely affected by surging interest rates and inflation.

Upon embarking on this new chapter, Grant-Geary shared her vision: “As I step into this exciting role, my main aim is to tell the stories that matter the most to Australians, particularly in these challenging times. I am joining an experienced team at Yahoo Finance who have been smashing their cost of living coverage and I look forward to helping build on this important and impactful content.”

With Grant-Geary at the helm, Yahoo Finance Australia is poised to further cement its position as a credible and empathetic voice in the financial news landscape, steering conversations that resonate deeply with Australians amid trying times.
