Biza.io expands team to boost non-bank lender CDR services

Today

Biza.io has appointed Kam Rafiei as Product Lead to support the company's expansion of Consumer Data Right (CDR) services in response to growing demand, particularly from the non-bank lending sector.

The creation of this new role comes as recent rule changes introduced by Treasury have expanded the scope of the CDR regime to include non-bank lenders, widening the regulatory framework that applies to the sector.

Kam Rafiei, who has held senior management and product lead roles at organisations such as Basiq, Marketplacer, Ailo, REA Group, Australia Post, and Experian, will be responsible for developing Biza.io's capabilities for both data holders and recipients. His remit will include expanding the company's compliance offerings to support businesses navigating evolving regulatory requirements and capitalising on increased market demand for non-bank lending solutions under the new CDR rules.

Kam Rafiei commented, "The CDR presents immense opportunities for businesses to reach more customers, gain a competitive edge, and innovate their products and services. It's a great time to be joining the market leader in CDR solutions, and I'm looking forward to working closely with the team and our customers to ensure the latest sector to join the CDR ecosystem, non-bank lenders, can make the most of it."

In addition to the appointment of Kam Rafiei, Biza.io has also expanded its team with the appointment of Anthony Skepper as Account Manager. Anthony has previously held senior sales roles at Best Technology Services, Telstra, Optus, and BT Global Services, and brings experience working with clients in the financial and energy sectors.

Anthony Skepper stated, "Biza has a strong reputation for collaborating closely with businesses across the financial and energy sectors to deliver cost-effective, compliant, and robust CDR solutions. I'm thrilled to be joining a team that is clearly dedicated to furthering innovation in these sectors while helping businesses get optimal value out of the CDR."

Jessica Booth, Chief Operating Officer at Biza.io, welcomed both appointments, noting the significance of the company's ongoing growth. Jessica Booth said, "As the CDR ecosystem continues to expand to incorporate more industries and present further opportunities for consumers to access the best products and services available, it's perfect timing to welcome Kam and Anthony to the Biza team. I'm looking forward to working alongside Kam as we scale the business and meet our ambitious growth targets, and we're excited to have Anthony join our committed sales team to help us continue delivering outstanding customer service."

Biza.io, which was founded in Brisbane in 2017, develops software solutions that enable regulated organisations to securely share and access customer transaction data, with consumer consent, under the CDR framework. The company has worked with multiple banks, fintech companies, and energy firms to provide both CDR conformance and digital service platforms.

The expansion of its expert team reflects Biza.io's response to the increasing adoption of CDR services across financial services, banking, and the energy sector, and the evolving regulatory environment as additional industries come within scope of the CDR regime.
