Bizcap has been ranked Australia's top workplace in finance and insurance by Great Place To Work for 2026.

The assessment was based on confidential employee feedback, an analysis of workplace culture and data from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.

The result adds to a string of workplace accolades for the Australian-founded non-bank lender. It was also named among Australia's best workplaces for women and has secured Great Place To Work certification in Australia, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom.

Bizcap operates across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States and Canada. It says it has funded more than 100,000 small and medium-sized enterprises globally, with total lending of $5 billion since launching in 2019.

The ranking comes as the lender continues to expand outside its home market, building a presence across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia as competition in non-bank business lending intensifies.

Culture focus

Kirsty Nixon, Senior People and Culture Manager, linked the ranking to the company's internal policies and employee feedback.

"Being recognised as a Best Workplace in Finance and Insurance is a proud moment for Bizcap and a reflection of the culture our people help build every day," Nixon said.

"We know that great workplace culture doesn't happen by accident. It comes from listening to our people, supporting their wellbeing, creating opportunities for growth and ensuring every employee feels valued and included."

Great Place To Work ranks employers using employee survey data and workplace assessments. In this case, the process also drew on insights linked to gender equality reporting.

For Bizcap, the recognition provides an external benchmark at a time when financial services groups are competing for both staff and customers. Lenders in the fintech and non-bank sectors have faced pressure to scale teams quickly while maintaining cohesion across multiple markets.

Global growth

Zalman Blachman, Co-founder and Global Co-Chief Executive Officer, said the company viewed workplace culture as central to its expansion.

"Bizcap has grown rapidly by staying focused on innovation, speed and service, but our success has always been driven by our people. This recognition reflects the culture our team has built together and the environment we've created for talented people to thrive," Blachman said.

"The workplace culture we've built in Australia has become the foundation for how we grow globally. As we continue expanding across markets, we're committed to creating the same high-performing, people-first culture wherever Bizcap operates."

The company positions itself as a provider of fast business funding for smaller companies, with approvals in as little as three hours and same-day funding available. That model has helped it grow in markets where smaller businesses often seek alternatives to traditional bank lending.

Expansion across several regions has also increased the importance of management structures beyond Australia. Rebecca del Rio, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, APAC, and Global Chief Revenue Officer, said the recognition reflected deliberate investment in staff and culture.

"What makes this recognition so valuable is that it's based on the honest feedback of our people. We've built this culture deliberately by listening, acting on feedback and continually investing in an environment where our people can do their best work," del Rio said.

"In finance, trust underpins every relationship. Receiving this recognition from the people who experience our culture every day reinforces that we're living those values internally, just as we strive to do for our customers and partners."

Sector backdrop

The award highlights how workplace rankings have become part of the competitive landscape in finance, particularly among fintechs and specialist lenders. As firms expand internationally, staff retention and employer reputation can carry greater weight for businesses establishing new operations and integrating teams across jurisdictions.

Bizcap's latest ranking is also notable because it was based on employee responses rather than a company submission alone. That distinction has become more significant as employers seek independent validation of internal culture during periods of rapid hiring and geographic expansion.

The review also measured whether recognised companies showed a measurable commitment to advancing women in the workplace. That places the ranking within a broader set of indicators increasingly shaping how workers, recruits and industry bodies assess financial employers.
