Bluesound has added Apple Music support to its wireless speakers, stereo components and soundbars in Australia, allowing subscribers to stream more than 100 million songs through compatible devices.

The service is available through the latest version of the BluOS platform, which integrates streaming services into the BluOS Controller app. Users can access Apple Music by signing in through the app, provided they have an active subscription.

Music streaming

Apple Music offers subscribers access to more than 100 million songs without advertising. The service also includes personalised recommendations, curated playlists, artist-hosted shows and radio programming.

The integration allows users to stream music directly through compatible Bluesound Players rather than relying on a phone or tablet to play audio. The feature is available through a free BluOS software update.

Alberto Zamudio, General Manager, Amber Technology, said "Bluesound has always been about music discovery and the freedom to enjoy their music their way, in every room they listen in. Adding Apple Music means even more listeners can bring the music they love to their Bluesound system, with the simplicity of the BluOS Controller app and the sound quality Bluesound is known for."

Multi-room audio

Apple Music can be played on a single Bluesound Player or streamed across multiple compatible devices in a home. Users can group rooms and audio zones to play the same music throughout the property or choose different tracks for individual rooms.

Compatible devices include the PULSE FLEX wireless speaker, the NODE streaming component connected to a hi-fi system, and the PULSE CINEMA soundbar.

The addition of Apple Music expands the streaming options available through BluOS, which already supports Apple AirPlay 2. The platform also supports compatible devices from other audio brands, including NAD Electronics and PSB Speakers.

Device support

Apple Music is available on compatible Bluesound Players and other BluOS-enabled devices through the free software update. Existing subscribers can sign in through the BluOS Controller app to access the service.

The integration brings Apple Music into the platform's existing range of streaming services, allowing users to manage playback through the same controller app used for their BluOS devices.

An active Apple Music subscription is required to use the service. Availability depends on having a compatible device running the latest version of BluOS.
