Borderless CS, CyberYouth Australia partner for cyber defence

Today

Borderless CS has been appointed as the Managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) provider for CyberYouth Australia to deliver 24/7 cyber defence and support the development of future cybersecurity professionals.

The partnership aims to strengthen the cyber resilience of CyberYouth Australia, a non-profit widely recognised for spearheading youth-led cybersecurity initiatives nationwide. The engagement will see Borderless CS providing continuous monitoring, threat detection, and incident response from its CREST-accredited, ISO-certified Security Operations Centre based in Melbourne.

The collaboration was established with a dual purpose: to protect the organisation from increasing cyber threats while fostering a skills-ready cybersecurity workforce. With digital engagement playing a growing role in CyberYouth Australia's activities, the need for strong security capabilities has become a central operational concern.

"Borderless CS's 24/7 managed SOC services give us the confidence and operational security we need to continue empowering the next generation of cyber leaders. As a youth-led organisation with growing digital engagement, securing our platforms and data is critical to our mission, and this partnership allows us to do that at the highest standard," said Simon Peter, CTO of CyberYouth Australia.

CyberYouth Australia occupies a distinct position at the intersection of education, innovation, and social impact, running workshops, competitions, and mentorship programmes that reach thousands of young people. The increasing frequency and sophistication of cyber risks, especially in the education and not-for-profit sectors, motivated the organisation to seek a security partner capable of delivering around-the-clock protection.

Services included in Borderless CS's managed SOC offering cover 24/7 threat monitoring and alerting across Microsoft 365, on-premises, Azure, and AWS cloud environments, alongside incident detection and triage, email and identity protection, threat intelligence, endpoint and file integrity monitoring, vulnerability assessment, malware detection, and monthly threat intelligence reporting. Advisory support is aligned to both ISO 27001 and NIST CSF standards.

Borderless CS's credentials include certifications in ISO 27001:2022, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, SOC 2 Type II, and recognition by CREST ANZ and CREST International. According to the firm, these standards mean that the security practices implemented for CyberYouth Australia are consistent with those used by regulated industries and government clients.

"We're proud to protect CyberYouth Australia's critical operations and digital ecosystem," said Jayaprakash MUTHUSAMY, CEO of Borderless CS. "This partnership not only enhances their cyber posture but also embodies our mission of making advanced cybersecurity accessible to the organisations doing vital work in our communities."

This partnership is not limited to providing technical security. As part of the agreement, members of CyberYouth Australia will have the opportunity to shadow Borderless CS's SOC operations in a structured talent pathway. This will provide hands-on experience in threat monitoring, SIEM tuning, log analysis, and incident response operations within a live, CREST-accredited environment.

The intention is to facilitate career readiness for young people by exposing them to real-world cyber defence environments. Participants will be able to observe and learn from industry practitioners and develop practical skills applicable to careers in cybersecurity.

"Our partnership with Borderless CS represents more than a service – it's an investment in capacity building," added Simon Peter. "The opportunity for our members to gain insights directly from industry practitioners working in real-world environments is truly invaluable."

Borderless CS's commitment to community cyber resilience is further demonstrated by the provision of tailored SOC services to CyberYouth Australia at a not-for-profit rate. The company has restated its ambition to extend advanced cyber capabilities across organisations of all sizes and sectors, regardless of their budget or operational complexities.

"Protecting those who protect and empower others is our highest calling," said Jayaprakash (JP), CEO at Borderless CS. "This collaboration is a model for how Australia can address cyber risk and workforce development at the same time—through trusted partnerships that combine technical depth with social impact."
