Capgemini announces new A/NZ leadership as local CEO departs

Capgemini has announced the appointment of a new local leader today, with Olaf Pietschner filling the position of head of Capgemini in Australia and New Zealand, effective immediately.

Pietschner will serve as the replacement for outgoing A/NZ CEO Nicolas Aidoud, who announced his departure on Linkedin today.

Aidoud says he’s leaving Capgemini to explore new avenues within A/NZ, wishing his previous company all the best going forward.

“With over two decades with the Capgemini Group, I will be leaving Capgemini to embark on a new and exciting journey in Australia,” Aidoud says.

“I am grateful for the many opportunities that Capgemini has provided me during this time.  I am delighted to hand over the CEO role to Olaf Pietschner and wish all the success.

Capgemini executive chairman of the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions Luc-Francois Salvador says, “Asia-Pacific is Capgemini’s fastest growing region and a top priority for the Group as we continue to capitalize on the opportunities in this market. I would like to thank Nicolas for his leadership and his contribution to the Australian business.”

Pietschner, formerly Chief Operating Officer for the region, will now be responsible for leading and growing the A/NZ arm of the business.

Joining Capgemini in May 2017, the company says he has played a pivotal role in driving its offerings in intelligent technology and has helped shape a client-centric portfolio to drive competitiveness and growth.

Within his time at the company, he as also provided leadership to the energy & utilities, public sector and telecommunications and media & entertainment business units.

According to Capgemini, Pietschner has experience in consulting and digital transformation across a number of leading organisations globally.

Prior to joining the company, Pietschner held key executive roles in both client and services organisations including Origin Energy, News Corp and Deloitte.

On Pietschner’s promotion, Salvador says, “Olaf has been a key member of our executive team and is a proven leader with extensive industry experience and operational expertise.

“As we move forward into the next phase of our continued transformation and growth, Olaf’s extensive experience in business, technology consulting and digital transformation will strengthen our innovation agenda to address the business ambitions of our clients, aligning our service portfolio with customer demand for both innovation and competitiveness.”

Pietschner himself adds, “I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead Capgemini in Australia and New Zealand as we continue to build on our momentum for growth.

“With over 2000 employees working with our clients in the Top 50 ASX listed companies and major public sector organisations, we will continue to leverage our investments in Digital and Cloud, taking a client-centric approach to drive our clients’ innovation priorities for real business outcomes,” added Olaf Pietschner, Head of Capgemini in Australia and New Zealand.”
