Check Point unveils AI-powered upgrades for security platform

Today

Check Point Software Technologies has unveiled new capabilities for its Infinity Platform aimed at advancing zero trust, tightening threat prevention, and simplifying security operations.

"We live in a hyperconnected, digital world with new cyber threats emerging every day," said Nataly Kremer, Chief Product Officer at Check Point.

"Meanwhile, security teams are struggling to adequately prevent cyber-attacks due to complex and siloed security solutions. We are pleased to introduce several new AI-powered innovations that cut down complexity and strengthen the Unified Security Management capabilities of the Infinity Platform. Our customers will experience enhanced threat prevention, while finding it very easy to collaborate with third-party products."

The company highlighted that many organisations continue to operate with a siloed approach to security, leading to challenges that include fragmented policies and security gaps. With cyber-attacks increasing by 44% year-over-year, security teams face significant pressures.

Siloed hybrid environments require security teams to manage a range of policies across various systems, often through manual processes.

These complexities can slow down procedures and create risks of cyberattacks and system failures. To address these issues, Check Point has introduced six new AI-powered enhancements to its platform.

The "Unified Identity & Policy" capability uses AI and identity awareness for more granular security policies, thus restricting resource access to authorised users only. This capability aims to improve security hygiene and maintain compliance across environments.

Quantum Policy Insights analyses existing policies to recommend changes, thereby enhancing security postures. It supports zero trust by removing excessively permissive access and conflicting policies.

Quantum Policy Auditor offers alignment with corporate guidelines, utilising policy visualisation to identify violations. By analysing thousands of rules swiftly, it intends to ease workloads for security and audit teams.

The Infinity Identity Cloud integrates with third-party identity providers and supports sources such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune, and Harmony Endpoint, reflecting enhanced interconnectivity.

The "Collaborative Threat Prevention" capability aims to enhance threat detection and blocking abilities through AI, reducing human error and speeding up remediation.

Infinity Playblocks provides automation and orchestration across the Infinity Platform, supporting third-party solutions and offers over 100 pre-configured playbooks for security operations.

Organisations can also craft customised playbooks through its GenAI feature.

To improve operational efficiency, the "Operational Simplicity" capability employs AI insights to minimise manual, error-prone work processes, ultimately enhancing zero trust and lifecycle management.

The Infinity AIOps AI agent proactively monitors infrastructure, offering real-time insights on resources like CPU and memory utilisation.

Infinity AI Copilot serves as a chat-based GenAI assistant that utilises an organisation's policies and logs to provide detailed answers for security teams, thus streamlining security management and incident response activities.
