ColorTokens acquires PureID to enhance Xshield capabilities
ColorTokens has acquired PureID to bolster its Xshield Microsegmentation Platform with advanced identity-based segmentation. PureID, a startup specialising in secure identity and access management, will integrate its AI-based identity engine into ColorTokens' security solutions, enhancing Xshield's capabilities in IoT/OT, cloud, container, and user environments.
As organisations face increasingly complex digital landscapes and evolving cyber threats, ColorTokens' purchase of PureID aims to provide more robust security measures. Identity-based microsegmentation enhances policy enforcement by using strong identities independent of changing infrastructure attributes, which is particularly beneficial for dynamic environments such as cloud and containers. IoT and OT environments, which typically suffer from identification difficulties due to distributed infrastructures, will also benefit from accurate policy enforcement through identity-based segmentation. Similarly, user environments will see improved security by enforcing user-specific policies even as users move across different locations and shared infrastructures.
Rajesh Khazanchi, CEO of ColorTokens, said, "PureID's identity-based segmentation aligns with our vision to provide stronger segmentation and smarter containment while still allowing reliably identified access to business-critical resources. These capabilities play a key role in the continuous enhancement of our Xshield product to ensure organizations are effectively protected from the growing risk of cybersecurity threats."
Incorporating PureID's technology into Xshield will address the need for adaptive and failsafe security measures required in modern digital ecosystems. As companies increasingly implement cloud, IoT, and mobile solutions, the aim is to ensure effective segmentation and protection across various scenarios. PureID's authentication stack, PureAUTH, offers passwordless and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for both human and machine identities, enhancing secure access and regulation within the Xshield platform.
Ajit Hatti, CEO of PureID, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating, "We are excited for ColorTokens to leverage PureID's segment-leading, true-passwordless identity access management capabilities in their comprehensive breach-ready strategy. Together we will tremendously minimize the impact of a breach for businesses."
PureID will continue to support and expand its customer base while contributing its technology to ColorTokens. The integration promises to differentiate ColorTokens' offerings further, establishing them as a leader in the identity and access management sector within the cybersecurity industry.
This announcement follows the recent recognition of ColorTokens as a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Microsegmentation, Q3 2024 evaluation. According to Forrester, "ColorTokens' strategy is guided by a refreshingly honest vision: to make its customers 'breach ready.' Its past innovation and future roadmap are full of features to get customers there."
