Dragos & Yokogawa partner to boost industrial security

Today

Dragos and Yokogawa Electric have announced a collaboration to enhance cybersecurity within industrial systems globally by integrating Dragos's cybersecurity platform with Yokogawa's CENTUM VP system.

This partnership is intended to offer improved network visibility and threat detection for industrial organisations undergoing digital transformation. The integration will provide a comprehensive security solution that bridges the gap between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) networks.

Robert M. Lee, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Dragos, commented, "This partnership with Yokogawa marks a significant milestone in our mission to secure industrial environments worldwide. By combining Dragos's industry-leading OT cybersecurity platform with Yokogawa's extensive expertise in industrial automation, we're providing organisations with unparalleled visibility and protection for their critical infrastructure."

Lee continued, "This collaboration enables us to deliver comprehensive OT-native network visibility and monitoring, ensuring that our joint customers can confidently navigate their digital transformation journey while maintaining the highest levels of operational safety and reliability."

The Dragos OT Cybersecurity Platform focuses on reducing cyber risk in industrial contexts. It facilitates asset visibility, vulnerability detection, and enables tailored responses through OT-specific strategies and forensic investigations.

Significantly, customers utilising both the Dragos Platform and the Yokogawa CENTUM VP system will gain several benefits. Key among these is the validated integration, which ensures that the Dragos Platform operates seamlessly with the CENTUM VP distributed control system (DCS).

Additionally, the collaboration enhances visibility within the CENTUM VP environment, assisting organisations in identifying and monitoring assets, addressing vulnerabilities, and using traffic data to manage, investigate, and respond to incidents.

Advanced threat detection and response capabilities are also offered, enabling fast and effective identification and mitigation of threats. Dragos delivers ongoing codified threat detections and response strategies through regular content updates, which are tailored specifically to OT environments such as the CENTUM DCS and other systems.

Specific capabilities for the CENTUM VP platform are included in the Dragos Platform, like protocol dissection, asset classification, threat behaviour analysis, and investigation playbooks. These enhancements are set to advance Yokogawa's cybersecurity evaluation capabilities significantly.

The joint efforts will provide access to a comprehensive range of OT cybersecurity services via Yokogawa's global service network, designed to meet the specialised requirements of the processing and manufacturing industries.

Katsunori Iijima, General Manager of Cybersecurity Management at Yokogawa, stated: "At Yokogawa, we recognise the critical importance of cybersecurity in today's rapidly evolving industrial landscape. Our partnership with Dragos allows us to offer our customers a best-in-class OT security solution that seamlessly integrates with our CENTUM VP platform."

Iijima said, "This collaboration enhances our ability to provide comprehensive cybersecurity services on a global scale, ensuring that our customers can focus on their core operations while we safeguard their critical assets. Together with Dragos, we're committed to advancing the state of industrial cybersecurity and empowering organisations to build resilient and secure operational environments."

The alliance aims to empower industrial organisations by equipping them with robust cybersecurity measures, thus helping them protect critical infrastructure as they advance through digital transformation processes.
