Tue, 20th Aug 2024

Dynabook has introduced its latest business laptops, the Tecra A40-M and Tecra A60-M, both incorporating enhanced AI features and Intel Core Ultra processors.

The newly launched Tecra A40-M and A60-M are equipped with Windows 11 Pro and represent the company's response to the increasing demand for productivity and security in corporate environments. The laptops are powered by Intel's first-generation Core Ultra processors, designed to provide businesses with improved efficiency and user experience.

Angela Walker, General Manager at Dynabook ANZ, commented on the launch: "At Dynabook ANZ, we are committed to providing innovative solutions that genuinely support the needs of our customers. By integrating Intel's latest Core Ultra processors and Copilot1 AI capabilities, these new Tecra laptops not only enhance efficiency and security but also deliver an exceptional user experience, ensuring that our customers have access to the best and latest technology in the market to power their businesses efficiently."

The Tecra A60-M, a 16.0-inch laptop, marks Dynabook's first entry into the segment for larger high-performance, AI-enabled mobile devices. It features a slim profile and a full-sized, backlit 10-key integrated numeric keyboard aimed at professionals who are frequently on the move. The Tecra A40-M, with a 14.0-inch screen, is positioned as a versatile device for mobile productivity, with features intended to support work from any location.

Both laptop models have adopted Copilot AI capabilities through a dedicated Copilot key for immediate assistance. This integration is expected to streamline business processes including automating repetitive tasks. The laptops are equipped with AI-powered noise reduction to improve voice clarity during communications, a 5MP webcam with AI functions such as background blur and face framing, and AI-driven battery optimisation to extend device usage.

The Tecra A40-M and A60-M are constructed with a compact and lightweight dark blue chassis and exceed the MIL-STD-810H durability standard. Both versions include 16:10 WUXGA displays and touch-enabled options, full-size backlit keyboards with dedicated conferencing hotkeys compatible with major platforms, and spacious ClickPads to facilitate navigation.

Security remains a focal point of the new models. The devices are classified as Secured-core PCs, which means they are equipped with security features meant to defend against a variety of security threats. Each model comes with a Trusted Platform Module (dTPM) 2.0, supports advanced encryption, and offers the option to integrate face and fingerprint biometric scanners or a smart card reader.

Connectivity options on the Tecra range include Wi-Fi 6E, a built-in LAN port, HDMI and Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-A, and a microSD card slot. These features are intended to support fast network access and facilitate a wide array of collaborative and solo work scenarios. The devices' high-resolution displays and audio-visual enhancements cater to both conferencing and everyday office requirements.

Dynabook points to the reliability of its laptops, referencing a low failure rate and comprehensive warranty and support services. These aspects are intended to help businesses reduce IT maintenance costs and avoid unnecessary downtime.

The Tecra A40-M is priced from AUD $1,475 including GST, while the Tecra A60-M starts at AUD $1,500 including GST. The devices are available through authorised Dynabook resellers.
