Dynatrace enhances multicloud analytics capabilities

Wed, 27th Jul 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Dynatrace has enhanced its analytics capabilities for modern multicloud environments by unifying its AI-powered log analytics with its digital experience monitoring capabilities.

This latest improvement to the Dynatrace platform includes Session Replay and will allow development teams to generate deeper insights into specific user journeys automatically by connecting logs to the user sessions that generated them.

Further, this will mean teams can use the platform's DEM capabilities to analyse relevant user sessions and behaviour and playback the actions of any user journey through Session Replay, giving them contextualised insights that outline exactly how to get the most out of the user experience.

"As technology stacks have become more distributed, and logs and user session data more fragmented, developers have been challenged to understand the link between back-end system performance and front-end user experience," Dynatrace product management senior vice president Steve Tack says.

"By bridging this gap and unifying logs, user sessions, and visual Session Replays, Dynatrace makes it easier for teams to ensure optimal user journeys while proactively solving any issues that may have gone into production undetected.

"This automated, customer-centric approach to software optimisation gives teams the confidence to innovate at speed and scale.

Dynatrace's Session Replay offering transforms how development teams approach enhancing digital experience by giving them high-definition video replays of user journeys so they can make improvements aligned with customer needs.

In addition, automating this functionality will benefit front and back-end development teams that have traditionally worked in silos, manually trying to match log events with their corresponding user sessions.

This allows these teams to collaborate more effectively and minimises their reliance on manual processes.

"ConTe.it is always striving for better customer experience, so ensuring our applications work flawlessly is a primary objective for us," ConTe.it chief information technology officer Andrea Cova says.

"Dynatrace's ability to combine logs, user experience, and Session Replay, all in context, has helped our teams gain a better understanding of customer pain points and allowed us to improve the performance of our digital services.

"Accessing all this data in one place has also saved our teams time, enabling them to focus on what matters most: accelerating our growth, driving innovation, and creating new features so we can make our customers happier.

The improvements to its multicloud analytics capabilities come after Dynatrace extended its platform release validation capabilities to automatically deliver user experience validation and user experience assurance (UXA) at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

By automatically incorporating user experience insights, including application availability, performance, and feature engagement, the Dynatrace platform allows DevOps and SRE teams to continuously evaluate their applications against specific, measurable, and achievable service level objectives (SLOs).

This empowers teams to automatically improve software quality and resiliency at any scale with significantly less manual effort.
