Epson has unveiled its new SureColor P5360 17-inch professional photographic printer to meet the "demanding needs of professional and production photographic markets." Deeming an important upgrade, it succeeds the established SureColor P5070.
This latest offering aims to empower photographers with the capability to produce the finest exhibition-quality prints using a state-of-the-art printing system. The SureColor P5360 comes equipped with an improved printhead, a new ink set which has an extended colour gamut in dark blue hues, and an advanced print engine for better productivity, capable of a higher resolution of up to 5760 x 1440 dpi and including sheet and roll capability.
Distinguishing itself with a sophisticated design, the SureColor P5360 amalgamates an improved advanced Micro Piezo printhead with Epson's Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT). This combination ensures the production of prints with smooth tonal transitions, effectively reproducing intricate details photographed by today's high-resolution cameras.
The printer features a new 10-colour UltraChrome PRO10 ink set in high-capacity 200 ml cartridges costing RRP AUD $169 and NZD $189, including tax, inclusive of Violet Ink, catering to an extended spectrum of blue hues. With dedicated channels for photo and matte black inks, the printer eliminates the need for ink switching, saving time and reducing ink waste.
This new printer showcases an in-built Carbon Black Mode, significantly enhancing Dmax and producing richer blacks and exceptional contrast on glossy paper. Providing flexibility and increased productivity, the SureColor P5360 is integrated with a built-in roll feeder, an auto-cutter and a high-capacity cassette that can hold up to 100 cut sheets ranging in size from 8" x 10" (203 x 254mm) up to A2+ (432 x 610mm).
To further support contemporary workflows that utilise both Epson and third-party media, the SureColor P5360 includes the Epson Media Installer. This software application aims to help users control parameters for successful printing with various media, including heavy-weight fine art papers.
Responding to market needs and incorporating customer feedback, Epson has committed to integrating the latest printhead and ink technologies optimised for photography into this new printer. Hence, professional photographers can maximise productivity, reliability and produce the finest exhibition-quality prints.
A notable evolution to the acclaimed SureColor P5070, the SureColor P5360 boasts improved reliability, deeper black density, and a wider colour gamut in blue hues. Extra features include intuitive operation with a new large 4.3-inch colour LCD touchscreen and interface for easy setup, control and maintenance.
Expanded connectivity options feature Ethernet USB and now include Wi-Fi connectivity. Advanced software support for enhanced productivity includes Epson Cloud Solution PORT1 for fleet management and Epson Print Layout software for simple print production.
The SureColor P5360 is expected to start shipping in Australia from December 2023. The Australian price tag rests at AUD $3,495.00 (including tax), while in New Zealand, it is marked at NZD $3,895 (including tax), maintaining the same price point as its predecessor, the SureColor P5070.
