Five Faces secures AUD $1 million to expand digital health tech

Yesterday

Five Faces, an Australian patient experience software provider, has completed a Series A funding round worth AUD $1 million, supported by the Queensland Government's Female Founders Co-Investment Fund and led by Utiliti Group.

The funding marks the first external capital raised by the Brisbane-based business and will be used to drive the development of new digital health solutions, as well as expansion both within Australia and in international markets.

Five Faces provides digital platforms for hospitals and healthcare providers to digitise patient interactions across multiple touchpoints, aiming to streamline the experience for patients and hospital staff alike.

Nicole Nixon, Chief Executive Officer of Five Faces, said, "Patients today expect a digital-first approach across all hospital touchpoints. But they are still faced with phone calls, paper forms, long queues and long waits in crowded waiting rooms. It's not 1999, but it can still feel like it. Due to the complexity in the health system, the industry has often lagged when it comes to digitisation."

Nixon added, "Patients are consumers first. If they can use their mobile to check into a flight, they expect the same to check into a hospital appointment. Technology has a big role to play in improving efficiency for all involved in the hospital journey, while giving patients a personalised, convenient experience."

Five Faces' solutions are currently utilised by several prominent healthcare providers, including Sydney Local Health District, Alfred Health, and New Dunedin Hospital.

Utiliti Group led the investment round, alongside funding support from the Queensland Government initiative for female entrepreneurs. Utiliti Managing Partner Jason Serda commented on the company's growth trajectory that led to the investment decision.

Serda said, "We are excited to be investing in Five Faces at a time of growth for the business and innovation in the healthcare sector. Utiliti and its investors were very impressed with the technology, recent traction, as well as the team and look forward to actively supporting Five Faces to scale globally."

Serda highlighted that Five Faces recorded year-on-year revenue growth of more than 32% in 2024 and recently formed partnerships with industry players such as NTT DATA Australia, NTT DATA New Zealand, and Privy, which contributed to investor confidence.

The Queensland Government's Female Founders Co-Investment Fund contributed to the capital raise, aiming to encourage early-stage growth and access to capital for women-led startups.

Queensland Minister for Science and Innovation Andrew Powell said, "The Female Founders Co-Investment Fund is about providing women entrepreneurs with the tools to scale up their business, expand into more markets and attract investors. It makes me incredibly proud to see this Queensland-based woman-led company go from strength to strength thanks to their ingenuity and our backing."

Alphalitica, trading as Five Faces, was established in 2019 by Nicole Nixon, who serves as CEO, and Abdul Alabri, who is Chief Technology Officer. Originally focused on digital signage, the company has since evolved to specialise in patient experience software for health providers.

In 2024, the company introduced a low-code foundational technology designed to help hospitals and healthcare providers overcome barriers to digital transformation. The modular solution can be configured to the needs of different providers, offering scalability and reducing administrative tasks.

In recognition of her work at Five Faces, Nixon received the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the 2025 ARN Women in ICT Awards (WIICTA) last month.
