Fivetran & Microsoft team up for data lake service

Today

Fivetran has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to provide enterprises with scalable and secure data solutions through its Managed Data Lake Service.

The partnership aims to assist organisations in efficiently centralising, managing, and scaling data within OneLake, part of Microsoft Fabric, addressing the increasing demand for robust infrastructure to support artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) workloads.

George Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Fivetran, commented, "Our collaboration with Microsoft addresses the critical challenges enterprises face when scaling AI and machine learning initiatives: getting all your data in one place. Our Managed Data Lake Service eliminates manual data engineering and ensures models are built on clean, compliant and AI-ready data. This collaboration empowers companies to innovate faster while adhering to the highest security and governance standards, including GDPR and HIPAA."

Fivetran's Managed Data Lake Service facilitates seamless replication of large datasets, reducing complexity while ensuring strict governance and security protocols are adhered to. By automating data movement and pipeline validation, Fivetran significantly cuts down on development work, making it easier for businesses to adopt AI solutions and speed up time-to-value.

Dipti Borkar, Vice President & General Manager of Azure Data, stated, "With the growing demand for AI and machine learning, businesses need scalable, secure solutions that streamline data management. Our collaboration with Fivetran combines Microsoft Azure's powerful cloud infrastructure including Microsoft Fabric with Fivetran's automated data integration capabilities to help enterprises drive AI projects forward, unlocking data-driven insights across their organisations."

This collaboration aligns with Fivetran's broader strategy to enhance enterprise data solutions across multi-cloud environments. Beyond Azure, Fivetran has reinforced its partnerships with Snowflake and Databricks, enabling businesses to maximise their data's potential through advanced processing frameworks such as Delta Lake and Iceberg for optimised analytics and AI workloads.

Furthermore, Fivetran's recent Hybrid Deployment solution offers additional support for industries with stringent security and compliance needs. This solution allows businesses to run data pipelines within their own infrastructure, granting full control over sensitive data. Combined with its Managed Data Lake Service, Fivetran aims to support enterprises in scaling AI/ML initiatives with confidence.
