Fujifilm & Igloo Vision demo 360 booth at Integrate 2024

Fri, 23rd Aug 2024

Fujifilm Australia, Optical Devices Division, and Igloo Vision are set to introduce a 360 booth experience at Integrate 2024 in Sydney.

The booth, positioned at Fujifilm’s E28A stand, aims to offer an immersive experience to attendees from August 21-23, 2024.

Initially launched at InfoComm in Las Vegas in June, the booth was recognised as one of the top five to visit at the event. It was subsequently showcased in Australia at EduTech 2024, where it also attracted considerable attention.

The rising interest in shared immersive spaces highlights their potential to facilitate the sharing of VR, XR, and 360 content. These spaces are already deployed across various sectors, including education, sales and marketing, and project management, delivering value throughout the project lifecycle.

The immersive booth will be powered by eight FP-Z6000 Projectors from Fujifilm. These projectors feature FUJIFILM Z-Series rotating and folding lenses, as well as expansive lens shift options, which cater to installation versatility in challenging spaces. The projectors, with a 6000-lumen output and a 0.34-0.37 ultra-short throw ratio, will work in conjunction with Igloo Vision's software to bring the space to life.

Igloo Core Engine, the operating system for the immersive booth, is designed to simplify the creation, use, and benefits of immersive spaces. The system integrates over 15 years of Igloo Vision’s experience in immersive technology, having provided solutions for hundreds of clients globally.

A standout feature of the Igloo Core Engine is True Perspective. This unique perspective correction feature applies a true-to-life perspective to immersive content and allows for real-time adjustments based on the viewer's position. The booth will utilise wall, floor, and ceiling projections, with True Perspective enhancing the realism of the experience.

Visitors to Fujifilm and Igloo Vision’s booth will experience custom-curated content from partners such as Atmosphaeres, Blend Media, and RapturousMedia. This content promises to transport viewers to various captivating locations including underwater scenes with whales, serene beaches and forests, and the aurora borealis.

The FP-Z6000 Projectors, discreetly placed behind walls and ceilings, will illustrate the capabilities of immersive spaces in different applications. These include classrooms, themed entertainment venues, real estate, art galleries, and simulation training for aviation, military, and emergency services.

The booth will also feature a fully immersive octophonic sound system, developed in collaboration with Optimal Audio, TAG, and QSYS. This 8.1 channel ambisonic system will enhance the sensory experience by integrating directional audio with the visual content.

"For years, shared immersive spaces were used almost exclusively for entertainment. Now organisations are finding that they create meaningful engagement among colleagues, customers, and students," said Simon Murphy, National Business Development Manager for projectors at Fujifilm Australia’s Optical Devices Division. Murphy also highlighted the advantages of the FP-Z6000’s discreet installation, stating, "You’re not in a room with projectors; you feel you’re actually a part of the story."

Fujifilm and Igloo Vision have been collaborating on immersive experiences for nearly five years. This partnership has led to the integration of Fujifilm’s FP-Z6000 Projectors in various corporate and educational settings around the world.

Colin Yellowley, founder of Igloo Vision, noted the increasing demand for immersive projections, "More and more clients are asking for floor projection, and Fujifilm Z-Series projectors have become our go-to. We’re excited to work with Fujifilm and its FP-Z6000 to add ceiling projection for a truly all-encompassing immersive experience."
