FullyRamped secures $2.3m for AI sales training tech
FullyRamped has secured USD $2.3 million in funding aimed at advancing its AI role-play technology for sales representatives.
The funding round was led by BoxGroup, MaC Venture Capital, and NOMO Ventures, with additional contributions from the scout funds of Greylock and Sequoia. This pre-seed investment will be utilised to expand FullyRamped's team, enhance its product offering, and accelerate its market strategy.
FullyRamped's platform offers sales representatives the opportunity to engage with AI-powered "Practice Prospects." These are custom personas that simulate realistic sales call progressions, allowing sales reps to refine their skills in a controlled environment. The real-time voice AI technology provides natural conversations with minimal latency, enabling companies to integrate AI into sales training safely. This platform offers unlimited practice opportunities, reducing dependency on the availability of managers or teammates and aiming to improve training efficiency.
Founder and CEO Aaron Marks, a Stanford engineer with a background in Natural Language Processing, created the platform to assist sales reps in practicing phone skills through live, on-demand cold call simulations. He stated, "the best part was using it myself; I learned how to sell FullyRamped over the phone, by using my own product."
Aaron Marks left his position as Growth Manager at Verkada to establish FullyRamped and has previously held a significant role at Skiff, which was acquired by Notion. FullyRamped now aims to refine the sales training process by complementing traditional role-play exercises with AI technology to offer a comprehensive solution.
"Our goal is to help companies develop their human capital," commented Aaron Marks. "We believe that AI is a tool that will be used by humans, not replace them. People still prefer talking to people, especially in high-stakes B2B sales conversations."
The company has attracted interest from technology firms with sales-led approaches and has begun to onboard paying customers. These early adopters have reported positive results, highlighting the promising growth since its launch.
While initially focusing on tech sales, FullyRamped's long-term vision extends beyond this sector. "When you build software, you would never test in production," Aaron Marks explained. "So, why don't we give everyone with a "people-job" a staging environment too?"
FullyRamped aims to provide a "sandbox" environment for customer-facing roles, allowing employees to practice without the pressure of real-world interactions possibly affecting job security.
David Tisch, Managing Partner at BoxGroup, remarked, "FullyRamped has identified a clear market need and built a solution with the potential to redefine the way we do business. We're excited by Aaron and his vision for the future."
Adrian Fenty, Founding Managing Partner at MaC Venture Capital, noted, "FullyRamped is poised to be one of the breakthrough voice-first agentic platforms. Aaron's vision for AI role play has great potential for augmenting, not replacing, a large share of human work."
