Genetec has appointed Dale Simons as Account Executive for Victoria and Tasmania, with responsibilities based in Melbourne.

Simons will manage customer accounts and collaborate with regional partners across both states to enhance new business development while maintaining relations with existing clients of Genetec.

With 14 years of experience in the IT and physical security sectors, Simons joins from his previous role as Business Development Manager at GSA Systems, where he led business expansion and identified market opportunities. His earlier experiences include positions at Hills Industries and Central Security Distribution, beginning his career at Q Security Systems.

Will Glasson, National Sales Manager at Genetec, commented on the appointment, stating, "Dale Simons is a well-respected, experienced and trusted leader in the Australian physical security industry. We're looking forward to tapping into his skills to further support our strategy in working with partners throughout Victoria and Tasmania. Dale has a proven record of providing customers with solutions which unify access control, video management, intrusion monitoring, automation, and many other advanced security capabilities. He has also worked with the Genetec platform during his tenures at Hills Industries and GSA Systems."

Simons expressed his enthusiasm for his new role by saying, "Genetec has a fantastic reputation as a customer-centric organisation. The company has consistently set the benchmark for physical security innovation that solves complex challenges. I'm looking forward to building on its foundation of success in Victoria and Tasmania to further work with customers in their adoption of physical security technology and delivering value-based outcomes."

The announcement comes shortly after Genetec revealed that its Security Center SaaS will be hosted in Australia on the Microsoft Azure platform following strong demand for sovereign data hosting capability, robust cybersecurity, and flexible cloud options. This move aligns with their commitment to offering security solutions hosted domestically. Furthermore, Genetec was recently recognised as the world leader in video management software (VMS) according to industry analysts Omdia and Novaira Insights.
