Genetec unveils Cloudlink 110 for hybrid cloud video management

Thu, 19th Sep 2024

Genetec has introduced the Cloudlink 110, a new cloud-managed video bridge aimed at simplifying video management for low-density deployments such as smaller sites within larger installations.

The compact device is designed to help sectors including retail, healthcare, and government, enabling the remote monitoring of multiple smaller locations from a centralised control room.

The Cloudlink 110 supports up to eight cameras and comes equipped with 1TB of local storage, utilising an ultra-endurance micro-SD card. This makes it suitable for installation in locations with limited hardware space, enhancing video workload optimisation and ensuring seamless integration between local and cloud environments in hybrid deployments.

Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering at Genetec, said: "We are transforming physical security with our hybrid cloud solutions."

"Our multi-workload appliances, capable of handling video, access control, intrusion, and more, allow organisations to achieve their business objectives with a single device. As we expand our solutions, these appliances will be the cornerstone of resilience and performance, unlocking broad capabilities to meet evolving security needs."

The Cloudlink 110 is noted for its flexible hybrid storage, which aids in the communication between satellite locations and centralised headquarters, allowing a more straightforward transition to cloud or hybrid environments.

One of the advantages highlighted is the ability for organisations to utilise their existing cameras, reducing the need for substantial new hardware purchases.

This new device is expected to be particularly beneficial in sectors such as retail, where it can simplify operations across multiple store locations. In governmental settings, it assists agencies in managing security within budget constraints. The healthcare sector also stands to gain from its capabilities, supporting the remote monitoring of smaller facilities like satellite clinics.

Morin further highlighted the user-friendly nature of the Cloudlink 110, noting that the cloud-managed automatic updates ensure continuous delivery of new features and system updates.

"This eliminates concerns about compatibility issues or disruptive upgrades, allowing customers to focus on their core operations without the need for specialised technical expertise," he explained.

Genetec's new Cloudlink 110 aims to provide organisations with a tool that reduces hardware complexity and enhances operational efficiency. The product is now available globally through Genetec's network of accredited channel partners.
