HID expands Signo Readers line to suit diverse customer needs
HID has announced the expansion of its Signo Readers line to address a variety of customer requirements, ranging from environmental and aesthetic preferences to budget constraints.
The new Signo models include several variants:
- Signo Readers in white offer a clean, minimalist design aimed at architects and designers who seek to integrate access control readers into modern environments with a neutral aesthetic.
- Signo Mechanical Keypad Readers are designed for reliability in harsh conditions. They are suitable for scenarios where users may be wearing gloves due to cold or wet weather or where visibility is low. Additionally, these readers provide an option for those who prefer or require a traditional mechanical device.
- Signo Express distills essential capabilities from the Signo line, offering a simplified and cost-effective solution for secure physical access control.
"Signo Readers are designed with versatility in mind to satisfy the increasing demand for customisation," said Cristian Cotiga, VP of Product Management for Physical Access Control Systems at HID. "These latest models provide customers even more ways to meet their unique and evolving security needs."
The expanded Signo line aims to assist organisations in meeting their dynamic security needs. HID Signo Readers boast a sleek, upscale design and deliver several innovative features:
The readers support a wide range of credential technologies, including HID Mobile Access via native Bluetooth and near field communication (NFC) capability. They also feature Apple's Enhanced Contactless Polling (ECP) to support credentials in the Apple Wallet, as well as support for mobile credentials in Google Wallet.
The readers offer enhanced performance through secure storage and a surface detection feature that allows the reader to automatically recalibrate and optimise read range performance.
Each Signo Reader is designed for future connectivity, with out-of-the-box support for Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) for secure bidirectional communication. Additionally, the readers can be connected and managed remotely without the need for physical interaction.
HID states its Signo Readers are designed to bring today's organisations into the future of access control. Beyond its modern design, the reader platform aims to provide flexible, reliable performance with support for an unmatched range of credential technologies.
