Hitachi Vantara wins award for unified hybrid cloud data platform

Thu, 4th Dec 2025

Hitachi Vantara's Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) has been recognised in a major industry award for its focus on hybrid and multi-cloud storage, underscoring increasing enterprise demand for integrated, resilient, and sustainable data management solutions.

The award comes as organisations grapple with the complexity of multi-cloud strategies and growing pressure to ensure data security, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

Market trends

Recent industry research suggests that 89% of organisations now operate across multiple public cloud services, while 73% combine public and private clouds.

This multi-cloud operating model is contributing to mounting challenges around data visibility and control. At the same time, forecasts indicate that the global cloud storage market will nearly triple from USD $145 billion in 2025 to USD $425 billion by 2030-a reflection of both accelerating data growth and the continued adoption of cloud infrastructure across sectors.

Unified management

Hitachi Vantara's VSP One integrates block, file, object, and mainframe data into one cohesive platform, providing a single view and unified management for storage both on-premises and in the cloud. The approach is designed to simplify day-to-day operations while delivering greater consistency in performance. The platform also offers integrated cloud tiering, allowing organisations to move data seamlessly between their own infrastructure and public cloud resources depending on workload requirements.

VSP One includes features such as 100% data availability and a zero-downtime architecture intended to minimise disruption to business-critical applications. Ransomware protection is built in, responding to the growing threat landscape targeting enterprise storage. The platform has been developed with an emphasis on both cybersecurity and sustainability, including measures to reduce energy usage in line with increasing enterprise focus on environmental goals.

AI-ready infrastructure

The platform's architecture has been prepared for the demands of current and future AI applications. The most recent expansion, VSP One Block High End, offers all-flash NVMe storage with security controls designed to meet U.S. government standards. This configuration aims to support mission-critical workloads that require high performance and advanced data protection, particularly in sectors adopting AI for data-rich processes.

Recognition and industry feedback

Selection for the storage - cloud-focused category in this year's awards follows direct input from technology solution providers, who rate products based on their experience in customer environments. Hitachi Vantara has also recently been recognised in other technology analyst reports and industry awards for both security and AI-optimised storage. The VSP One Object capability was previously named in a cybersecurity award for its security innovation.

Customer challenges

Complexity in managing hybrid and multi-cloud data environments remains a key concern for CIOs and IT departments. Unifying data control and maintaining resilient operations, especially as demand grows for both AI and sustainability metrics, are among the most pressing requirements for enterprise infrastructure. Market pressures from regulatory compliance and evolving cyberthreats continue to drive organisations toward platforms promising both operational predictability and flexibility.

"This recognition from CRN validates our focus on helping customers and partners simplify the complexity of hybrid cloud data environments. VSP One brings together simplicity, security and sustainability in one platform. It enables organisations to unlock the full value of their data while advancing sustainability and delivering dependable outcomes at scale," said Octavian Tanase, Chief Product Officer, Hitachi Vantara.
