Thu, 16th Feb 2023
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Australian hospitality tech platform, HungryHungry, has appointed Narelle Yacoub as Managing Director in response to the impressive 3500% growth revenue since 2019. The company now services over 1,500 venues, from cafes and restaurants to multi-venue franchise groups and stadium locations. Yacoub will work alongside Co-CEO’s and co-founders Mark Calabro and Shannon Hautot, as well as Head of Operations, Scott Fox, to grow the company's presence across Australia and New Zealand. The appointment comes as the company prepares to launch several new, industry-first products and features.

Yacoub brings over 10 years of experience working across HR, operations, and management in the hospitality technology sector. She was most recently General Manager at Point of Sale company, OrderMate, which was founded by Calabro and Hautot in 2003 and acquired in 2021 by leading Software as a Service (Saas) hospitality technology provider MSL Solutions.

Mark Calabro, Co-CEO and co-founder of HungryHungry, said, “Narelle is a highly skilled and seasoned people leader, and someone Shannon and I have had the opportunity to develop a close working relationship with since she joined our first business OrderMate as Head of HR in 2017."

In response, Yacoub expressed her excitement, “Working alongside them I have learnt about so many facets of business and what it takes to run a successful tech startup in the hospitality industry. Their leadership has given me the opportunity to develop my own skills as a leader and now step up to take on this newly appointed role of Managing Director. We have a proven track record of working together to deliver great results and I can’t wait to get started."

HungryHungry's CEO's Calabro and Hautot also expressed their confidence in Yacoub's leadership skills and cited her as a source of inspiration to those who have had the privilege of working with her. With Yacoub's appointment, HungryHungry is poised to strengthen its position as a leading Australian and New Zealand hospitality tech platform, operating across digital menus, online ordering, payments, and direct to customer marketing campaigns.
