Intium has announced the appointment of Babu Kumar as General Manager of Engineering and Delivery.

Intium, an Australian company offering energy solutions, has strengthened its leadership by appointing Kumar, who brings over 27 years of experience in engineering, operations, and project leadership. In his new role, he will manage technical strategy and development, focusing on supporting clients and project delivery teams to enhance technological progress and expedite market entry.

Kumar has previously held significant roles at Endeavour Energy, UGL, and most recently, served in a leadership position within the Major Projects group at Transgrid. He is now poised to apply his expertise in establishing design and engineering capabilities for the completion of large-scale projects at Intium.

"I am thrilled to join Intium and support the company's mission to transform Australia's renewable energy sector," said Babu Kumar. "I look forward to bringing my expertise to build on the team's progress and offer innovative long-term energy solutions to key industries helping to build our country's future."

Intium boasts a team with over 150 years of combined experience in energy services. Though established as a company in January 2023, it offers expertise across network connections, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and electrification, aiming to deliver renewable projects rapidly and responsibly.

Nathan Rhodes, Intium's Executive General Manager, continues to expand the senior leadership team, welcoming new leaders including Ian Armstrong for Business Development, Karie James for Business Improvement, and Joshua Thomas for EVCI, each bringing substantial industry experience.

"Our mission is to transform Australia for a clean energy future – in a cost-effective, innovative and reliable way that ensures speed to market. Having the right people on our team is vital to achieving this and I am thrilled to be building an exceptional team with the expertise and know-how to accelerate Australia's clean energy future," said Nathan Rhodes. "Our team is growing at speed to bring the greatest impact to our clients, communities, consumers and the industry."

Intium has also forged partnerships with global and local industry leaders to implement resource management and grid connection best practices. Recently, Intium secured a partnership to roll out electric vehicle charging bays in regional New South Wales, including the design, installation, and commissioning of these infrastructures.

As Australia pursues its 2030 and 2050 renewable energy targets, companies like Intium play a crucial role in the transition, specifically through the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Intium remains focused on speeding up energy solution deployment, contributing to Australia's timely progress towards renewable goals.
