Iron Mountain has announced the launch of its first 100% owned intellectual property, the InSight Digital Experience Platform (DXP). This new SaaS platform aims to help businesses automate workflows, ensure compliance, and make data more accessible. The platform's advanced capabilities enable the management and governance of physical and digital assets through AI-powered self-service tools.
The launch comes at a time when data security is becoming increasingly crucial, particularly in the face of impending reforms to the Privacy Act. These reforms will enable the privacy commissioner to take stricter action against breaches and hold board members personally accountable for such incidents. Business leaders are therefore under increasing pressure to implement robust data management solutions.
Research commissioned by Iron Mountain highlights the importance of such solutions. A survey conducted across six countries with 700 IT and data decision-makers revealed that 96% of respondents believe a unified asset strategy is critical for the successful implementation of generative AI initiatives. This finding aligns with the platform's capabilities as it facilitates the integration of physical and digital assets to enhance AI readiness.
Narasimha Goli, Senior Vice President, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Iron Mountain Digital Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the new platform. "We are thrilled to introduce InSight DXP, our next-generation SaaS platform, which is the foundation for AI-readiness. InSight DXP transforms your information—whether physical or digital, structured or unstructured—from unrealised potential to actionable power. This innovative platform empowers businesses to harness the full capabilities of their data, driving intelligent decisions and unlocking new growth opportunities," he said.
InSight DXP also features intelligent document processing that can extract, classify, and enrich information accurately and swiftly. This allows businesses to turn unstructured data into actionable intelligence, which can be integrated into their existing business applications. The platform also includes secure generative AI-powered chat, enabling rapid access to data even within a secure, isolated environment.
Amazon MGM Studios' Product Manager, Nathan Booth, praised the platform's potential. "Iron Mountain InSight DXP's generative AI integration with content management has the potential to provide us with enhanced visibility into our assets, allowing us to make quicker and easier business decisions," he said.
The platform's features extend to industry and jurisdiction-specific compliance, which can be crucial for audit-ready regulatory adherence. The low-code solution designer tool allows users to build custom content management and workflow automation solutions with intuitive drag-and-drop features. This flexible, modular approach is designed to cater to various sectors, including banking, healthcare, and human resources.
Amy Machado, Senior Research Manager for Enterprise Content and Knowledge Management Strategies at IDC, commented on the platform's broader implications. "Iron Mountain's ability to help its customers build models and secure data within Large Language Models (LLMs) with low-code tools can change the way organizations access and monetise documents, both digital and physical," she said.
Mithu Bhargava, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Iron Mountain Digital Solutions, emphasised the platform's potential impact on customer operations. "We see InSight DXP as a critical platform to help our customers get their information ready for use in generative AI and other AI-powered applications that drive operational efficiency and enhance customer experience. With unified asset management, information governance, workflow automation, and intelligent document processing tools, our customers can efficiently manage information across physical and digital assets," she said.
InSight DXP is also designed for quick deployment with pre-built, customisable solutions. These include industry-specific options like Digital Auto Lending and Health Information Exchange, and cross-industry solutions like Digital Human Resources and Invoice Processing. Such pre-built components are intended to help customers and system integrators meet their unique configuration needs promptly.
