Kacific unveils SatPack for remote satellite internet access

Today

Kacific Broadband Satellites Group has announced the launch of SatPack, a portable satellite internet solution aimed at providing connectivity in challenging regions of the Asia-Pacific.

Designed for rapid deployment, SatPack addresses the connectivity needs of enterprises, emergency personnel, and rural governmental agencies operating in remote locations. The product is built to support operations in sectors such as natural resource exploration, agricultural production, and industrial activities where traditional communication infrastructure is lacking or inadequate.

The portable system's rugged design and quick setup capabilities make it particularly useful for disaster relief teams and emergency response units. It can be deployed swiftly in areas affected by natural disasters, thus enabling the rapid establishment of communication networks necessary for coordinating relief efforts and managing crisis information.

SatPack features robust components, including a military-grade antenna dish and a weather-resistant frame, which ensure durability and ease of transportation. It comprises three protective cases for simple carriage and setup, requiring no prior technical expertise. Its motorised auto-pointing antenna facilitates optimal signal acquisition within 15 minutes, connecting to the Kacific1 satellite.

According to Kacific, SatPack is powered by their Ka-band spectrum with 99.97% availability, offering download speeds up to 40Mbps and upload speeds of 10Mbps. It comes equipped with a one-year prepaid plan that provides unlimited data usage, positioning it as a cost-effective tool for organisations operating within budget constraints in remote areas.

Availability is ensured through Kacific's network of 27 warehouses spread across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring delivery within three days of order confirmation. Customers also benefit from 24/7 support from Kacific's local partners and distributors distributed across 25 countries, an assurance for professionals undertaking critical missions.

Christian Patouraux, Chief Executive Officer of Kacific, stated, "SatPack was developed to meet the unique needs of remote and high-demand sectors, like oil and mineral exploration, national defence, and emergency response. Our goal is to provide a reliable satellite solution that allows professionals to operate seamlessly, even in the most challenging terrains."

He further added, "We recognise that in today's world, reliable connectivity can transform lives, and satellite internet remains the most reliable option for remote communities. We've built SatPack to be a versatile, rugged system that prioritises reliable, flexible connectivity over long-term infrastructure solutions. Whether you're setting up a field operation, a satellite command centre, or monitoring critical situations, SatPack ensures you can stay connected and keep operations running smoothly – all at an affordable price point."

Kacific's SatPack includes various essential components such as a 75cm antenna dish, a tripod and mini-pole for the device stand, an auto pointing control unit, modem, transceiver, and a foldable arm, all housed within protective case packaging.
