Wed, 9th Aug 2023

Energy software platform, Kaluza, has announced a significant expansion into Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) in a move to accelerate the region's transition towards renewable energy. This decision also marks the appointment of Conor Maher-McWilliams as Kaluza Regional Director in ANZ, where he will spearhead operations from Melbourne, known for being an innovation and tech advancement hub.

Conor Maher-McWilliams brings considerable experience to the position, having successfully led Kaluza's pioneering demand response programmes, including "the world's first and largest vehicle-to-grid deployment."

In the coming year, Kaluza plans to establish a local team comprised of energy solution experts, product leaders, and software engineers to support the region's activities. The team will collaborate with Kaluza customer AGL Energy, one of Australia’s largest energy retailers and generators, to ensure the success of the joint venture “OVO Energy Australia.” The aim is to hasten the adoption of clean energy solutions across the country and to develop new electric vehicle (EV) and solar propositions for AGL’s customers.

Moreover, Kaluza is growing its managed charging program to New Zealand in cooperation with Meridian Energy. Through this service, Kaluza will oversee the charging of Meridian’s customers’ EVs based on their needs and market signals and pricing data.

Scott Neuman, CEO of Kaluza, expressed enthusiasm about the development, stating, “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new team in Australia. This new regional hub will strengthen collaboration on our joint venture with AGL Energy and new partnership with Meridian Energy, marking an important milestone for Kaluza’s global expansion. We look forward to this next phase of delivery that will unlock unique propositions around EVs and solar and accelerate the region's transition towards renewable energy.”

This expansion underscores Kaluza's commitment to innovative energy solutions and reflects a growing global interest in renewable energy technologies.
