Leading Edge Data Centres appoints Matt Holden as COO
Matt Holden was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Leading Edge Data Centres (LEDC) to spearhead the company's growth in the edge data centre ecosystem. Holden will be based in Sydney and will be responsible for developing channel partners and customers while improving critical infrastructure operations. Holden was previously with CBRE Data Centres and spent 17 years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he focused on uplifting sales and operations during times of data centre expansion. He has also held senior positions at Telstra and IBM.
LEDC has been investing in additional edge deployments in Victoria and Queensland after completing six key regions in NSW. Holden's appointment comes in support of LEDC's rapid growth, where customers are in need of more assistance from LEDC's local partners. LEDC has already created new jobs in regional Australia and is working with global organizations to deliver pilots in NSW that will assist their Edge use cases in North America and Europe.
Holden is looking forward to delivering innovative edge data centre solutions to regional customers, stating that LEDC's customers already benefit from the same level of digital infrastructure to regional locations that those in capital city-based locations have. Chris Thorpe, Founder and CEO of LEDC, called the appointment a "tremendous opportunity" for the company's regional partners, emphasizing that the company is uniquely positioned to accelerate over the next two to three years. The company's fully deployed data centre network in New South Wales allows them to support customers by utilizing digital infrastructure specific to their regional needs.
LEDC was founded in 2019 and is creating a regionally located, interconnected data centre network that brings reliable internet and cloud services via edge colocation. The company's vision is to empower regional Australia and provide organizations operating in major regional areas with a home for their IT infrastructure, improving user experience, reducing costs and enabling regional businesses to compete and grow. LEDC is focused on connectivity and enabling platforms and is working with global hyperscale, software, CDN, and peer companies globally to deploy the critical digital infrastructure of the future.
