LinkedIn shares were offered through its IPO at US$45 per share but today opened, on its first day of trading, at US$83 per share - an 84 percent increase.

It closed the day out at US$94 per share and reached a trading high of US$122.70 during the day. This puts its market value at US$8.9 billion.

TechCrunch is now reporting that in light of such a successful IPO for LinkedIn, a Facebook IPO is now inevitable.
