Logicalis achieves carbon neutrality in key emissions with renewables
Logicalis has announced the achievement of carbon neutrality across its Scope 1 and 2 emissions as part of its ongoing commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.
The company reported a 23 per cent reduction in absolute Scope 1 emissions since its 2022 baseline, and a total reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions of 10 per cent. Total energy use has decreased by 13 per cent year-on-year in the 2025 financial year. Presently, renewable sources represent 22 per cent of Logicalis's global electricity consumption.
Emissions reduction initiatives
Logicalis outlined a series of measures undertaken to achieve these targets. A transition to majority renewable energy has been completed across six operations, including Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Portugal, and Australia. Country-specific carbon and energy reduction plans have been introduced, and the company has offset remaining emissions by purchasing verified carbon credits.
The company's roadmap is validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), with a target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50 per cent by 2030 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
According to Logicalis, the progress made in the past year includes a 16 per cent reduction in emissions, with further steps taken to shift energy consumption towards renewables. The company states that 22 per cent of its global energy use is now drawn from renewable sources.
Leadership perspectives
At Logicalis, we believe that sustainability must be embedded in everything we do - from how we operate as a business to the solutions we deliver for our customers. Achieving carbon neutrality is a significant milestone and a testament to the dedication of our teams around the world. While there's still much work ahead on our journey to net zero, this accomplishment reinforces our commitment to leading by example and driving positive change across the technology industry.
To reinforce transparency and accountability, Logicalis introduced its Responsible Business Report in 2024. The report is intended to outline sustainability commitments and provide a means to track progress toward the company's environmental targets.
Reaching carbon neutrality is a proud moment for Logicalis, but it's just one step of a much bigger journey. We know that real progress demands continuous action, transparency, and accountability, which is why we launched our Responsible Business Report and had our commitments validated and approved by SBTi. Balancing emissions reduction with business growth and the increasing use of carbon-intensive technologies is a challenge, but it's one we fully embrace. Through continued collaboration with our teams, partners, and customers, we're committed to building a more sustainable future.
Looking ahead
Logicalis's sustained focus includes increasing the proportion of renewable energy used in its operations, with a stated aim to reach 100 per cent renewable electricity usage internationally. The company's SBTi-validated targets form part of its longer-term plan to achieve net zero by 2050, requiring a 50 per cent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
To reach these goals, Logicalis is continuing to develop and implement country-specific energy reduction plans and drive the switch to renewables wherever possible, whilst utilising carbon credits to offset emissions that cannot currently be eliminated.
