Macquarie Government expands partnership with Netskope

Today

Macquarie Government has announced an expansion of its partnership with Netskope following a large-scale deployment of network security solutions for a major Federal Government department in Australia.

The Australian company deployed Netskope's SASE technology to ensure the department's compliance with Essential Eight (E8) Maturity Model Level 2 controls. This deployment supports the department in securing remote and on-site access to applications based on the personnel's clearance levels, providing a robust security framework.

Through the SASE architecture, the department benefits from an automated and dynamic policy enforcement framework. This ensures secure access to applications without interrupting user experience, while blocking unauthorised data sharing on unapproved applications. It guides staff toward using approved tools to enhance both security and compliance.

The technology allows Federal Government departments to embrace flexible working arrangements and cloud adoption, which are seen as crucial for attracting and retaining top talent. It enables a modern workforce approach while maintaining uncompromised security and supporting the government's operational objectives.

Macquarie Government's strategic expansion includes being an early adopter and one of the first Australian organisations in Netskope's Managed Service Provider Program. This development enhances its capability to deliver advanced security solutions to the government sector, reinforcing its position as a trusted security partner.

Aidan Tudehope, Managing Director of Macquarie Government, remarked, "The combination of Netskope's best-in-class single-vendor SASE platform with Macquarie Government's sovereign capabilities brings the promise of secure, flexible access to Australian Government agencies, transforming the way users and applications are secured."

He added, "By ensuring compliance with Essential 8 Maturity Level 2 standards, this partnership delivers enhanced security and resilience, providing a robust system that addresses the unique needs of government entities in an increasingly complex digital landscape."

Tony Burnside, Senior Vice President and Head of APJ at Netskope, stated, "This deployment represents a significant milestone in advancing cyber posturing within the Australian Government. By leveraging the advanced capabilities of the Netskope One platform and Macquarie Government's local engineering expertise, they have turned the vision of SASE into a practical, impactful reality."

Burnside further added, "Macquarie Government continues to refine their approach, delivering innovative solutions that enable SASE deployments at a PROTECTED classification while meeting the stringent compliance requirements of the Australian Government."

This partnership follows Macquarie Government's inclusion on the Information Communications Technology Provider Arrangement panel, allowing Defence and Intelligence agencies in Australia to directly procure services from them.
