Matillion cuts costs by USD $150k with Simbian's AI tool

Yesterday

Simbian has announced that its customer, Matillion, has achieved a 10x faster turnaround time and is projected to save USD $150,000 annually by employing Simbian's AI-based GRC Agent to manage and review security questionnaires.

Matillion provides a data pipeline platform used by data teams to construct pipelines for AI and analytics purposes. The company has expanded its range of services and software purchasing in response to growing business demands. Security questionnaires play a crucial role in the third-party risk management process for evaluating vendors based on specific criteria. However, the manual handling of these questionnaires was previously a time-consuming and distracting task for Matillion's security team, which also impacted their sales and business processes.

To address the problem of managing questionnaires, Matillion evaluated several solutions and ultimately chose Simbian's GRC Agent. This AI-based agent automates the generation of responses to incoming questionnaires, significantly reducing turnaround times and aiming to save considerable labour hours annually while ensuring consistent response quality.

Suchit Mishra, Matillion's Director of Information Security, stated, "Simbian's GRC Agent consistently delivers precise and accurate responses, significantly easing our workload. What used to take days now takes minutes, and we're thrilled with how seamlessly it has integrated into our existing processes. It's not just about saving time; it's about maintaining the highest standards of security and accuracy, which is exactly what Simbian enables us to do."

Simbian offers a variety of autonomous AI Agents designed to enhance the capabilities of enterprise security teams by increasing their operational scale tenfold. These AI Agents are intended to boost the overall intelligence, speed, and reach of security programmes, working alongside existing security teams.

The GRC Agent from Simbian is capable of gathering necessary documents like company policies, white papers, compliance certifications, and previous responses to security questionnaires. It then synthesises this information to draft answers, which can be refined through natural language coaching by users. This adaptability leads to significant time savings and reduces the need for manual interventions.

According to Simbian's data, organisations with 500 employees spend over USD $80,000 annually on manually completing questionnaires. As companies grow in revenue and size, these costs increase. Simbian's GRC Agent automates 90% of questionnaire completion, enhancing the efficiency of the process by nearly tenfold and shortening sales cycles. This automation can save the equivalent of one full-time employee's labour each year, promising a full return on investment within 12 months, allowing organisations to refocus on core activities aimed at reducing risk and promoting revenue growth. The benefit of quicker and enhanced answers also results in 25% shorter sales cycles, contributing to faster deal closures and revenue gain.

Ambuj Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO of Simbian, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, "We are pleased to work with customers like Matillion to apply AI to autonomously solve some of their most pressing security challenges. Simbian's GRC Agent uplevels your GRC programme. It enables your GRC and Product Security teams to offload the busy work of risk reviews and to focus on what matters, which is mitigating risks found and making strategic decisions."
